i'm convinced this is the 5 stages of grief for game devs: - no my scope is aight, i can do this in time - why the fuck did i choose to redo all this?? - i mean better a late game than a bad game am i right - oh god i'm never finishing this - good games really do just need time

This is both sad and frustrating, ngl. I know nintendo games have a wonder and charm to them, but man $450 for a console with the same drift issues as its 10 yo predecessor? $80 bucks for a game the reinvented nothing? Well with gta 6 coming soon it was just a matter of time anyway, but still

i understand and stand behind mocking the tech that is destroying our planet faster than ever (impressively enough), but i wish i could shake the doomer feeling and share the laugh sure, it's bad at chess, but you know what it's (kinda) good at? writing code (aka my job) or at least good enough

been trying the vibe code thing these last couple weeks and honestly it feels really fucking weird i feels like i'm 80% of my time doing nothing while i wait for shit to run took me a day to do something i'm not entirely sure would've taken more if i did it myself

this is an actual testament of how complete shit the AAA video game industry gas gone to the disrespect to such a beloved title is baffling: - horrendous texture scaling - no visual fidelity on sprite rework - no sprite rework at all on important shit like face sprites this is maddening

sharing to watch this later as should y'all probably one of the smartest, most talented people i have the privilege of following haven't watched it but already know it's a must watch for any indie game dev

great article, honestly. reflects pretty well what i'm feeling right now the argument that we have to read and merge other people's code, so it being AI or not doesn't matter is very strong but my only point of contention is that it's indisputable AI code assistants make me dumb

gm

I WAS WRONG HOLY FUCKING SHIT WHAT THE FUCK

so far the reveals in Rhythm of War have been less... bombastic, than other books? i'm enjoying it, but it does feel like they are very impactful to the lore, but less for specific characters granted i still have like 200 pages to go and i feel there's a big one coming in Shallan chapters i wonder

the prospects of how the world will change with this AI revolution really scare me: - llms are viable and cheap, but we're expected to produce a fuck ton more earning the same - llms are unsustainable, but we now depend on them or lose our jobs it seems most possibilities involve US being fucked
