I also vote for harm reduction and voted Harris anyway. But what is frustrating is that centrist dems choose to lose to the right. Because they know that people will vote them back in 4 years and they can continue making money from AIPAC. They aren't as bad a Republicans. But they're still bad.

All these social media sties have an agenda. X and TikTok are obvious. They're both heavily invested in or owned by groups with blatant political agendas. Even if TikTok seemed left at time, it seeks to sew devision. Meta is just about profits so anyone with a political agenda can abuse it.

Agreed. The jacket and backpack, literally the only identifying features, are totally different. This poor dude is going to get his life wrecked because NYPD needs to pin this on someone.

I think the block lists on bluesky helps circumvent this. I join a list and then I don't really have to block many people on my own or even think about it.

God, stop pearl clutching NYT. Nobody cares about Hunter Biden. Maybe focus on things that matter.

Agreed. But populism has been on an upswing since 2015. Maybe they switch to populists. I don't really see it happening though.

The people want a charismatic populist. Buttigieg and Newsom ain't it. Buttigieg does great in a debate and has solid policy, but short sound bytes sell. Newsom feels too sleazy.

I get why it feels like that. All US governments have been somewhat hostile to your demographic. Sadly, there is actually bad and worse.

Is it hard? It gives me a little thrill each time to press the block button.

One white woman to another, our group sadly mostly voted Trump. If we're playing identity politics, our demographic is part of the problem.
But thankfully identity politics is kinda BS.

Just block em. Literally their only joy comes from upsetting others, just like the OP said. Let them enjoy the policies they voted for. They've chopped off their own noses to spite their face and they'll have to deal with it too.

I agree with DOS2! Just started it with my boyfriend. Great BG3 vibes.

This is really just wealthy universities that are competitive. Research and wealthy alumni donors have already funded much of tuition in the past. This is a formalization of something that's been happening for years.

Its only realistic for universities with research that rakes in money, huge donors, and huge endowments.

Schools, like NYU and Columbia medical schools in NYC, started doing this before the repeal of DEI policies. The trend has nothing to do with DEI.

Hey look. Deregulation is coming. Don't let your dreams be dreams. We can legally convince people to eat anything soon. Silver linings.

I want to know why we can't just make him serve from prison. It would be cheaper to have him on lockdown instead of dragging secret service to every golf course known to man.

Isolationism is bad for the economy. Let Russia expand, brutalize the people, and gobble up local resources. It's morally wrong and financially stupid. With slipping US power, so does the USD as global currency. Once other countries rely less on the US economy, the debt collectors come.

We used to have the Schwan man come. We would lose our little minds. And our dad was always indulgent. My mom finally had to run him off because he got the rest of the family too wound up with excitement of bad frozen food!

Nah. He can only pardon his own federal crimes. NY can still get him on state crimes. Make him serve as president from prison. Do me proud NY.

I don't remember saying subvert democracy. But maybe don't smile when the other guy does. Fight harder when they play dirty. Maybe we should have done more when Mitch didn't let Obama confirm a supreme court judge. Or shouldn't have rolled over when the Florida recount was stopped for Al Gore.

They keep trying "they go low we go high" but it just feels like "they try to topple democracy and we smile and welcome them in because it's polite" at this point.

People not realizing this has made me realize how old I am. Do we not all know about from the windows to the walls? Also, the term is hilarious so I'm personally all for it.
