12th street would make the most sense to me?

From a FOIA perspective, "the entire federal workforce should write down and email what they did last week" is extremely funny

This is the strategy, folks! It would be helpful if journalists bothered to call someone who knows what they are talking about before pressing send. Also why doomscrolling is a mistake. Headlines are frequently misleading or fluid.

Now that DC is finally going after dangerous drivers, we're gonna get a fresh batch of sob stories about how unfair this is to drivers. Don't buy it. Reckless drivers harming DC families are the bad guys, not the other way around.

Great job by @dcattorneygeneral.bsky.social to put the STEER Act into action! The first set of dangerous drivers being taken to court today. 3 drivers racked up $90K+ in speeding tickets, put DC residents at risk, and in one case hit a child in a crosswalk! Now, they will face new accountability.

I hope these cases start turning the tide on the impunity of out-of-state drivers on DC streets. These folks are risking manslaughter daily, and we need not wait for a District resident to be injured or killed to act.

No Kings, Only Trains is a nice fit for this year’s #TranspoBINGO. This year we’re fighting for DC and local autonomy, in addition to public transit and public spaces. Board goes live in less than a week at www.transpobingo.com.

March 8th details from @ward5familybiking.bsky.social! 🚲🚲🚲 #Ward5FamilyBiking #BikeDC

It's that time of the year! Let us know your hopes and dreams in the Ward 5 budget survey: us12.list-manage.com/survey?u=0cd...

Hey look, I did this thing that I used to do: No, the District is not lying to us about bike lanes www.thewashcycle.com/2025/02/no-t...

Hopefully originalists on SCOTUS have an ounce of integrity and can place Article I in this context.

Important resource.

Ride the bus or a bike, folks! (Unless you’re already walking or riding a train!)

Even better—try an e-bike!

I'm participating in today's hearing to ask questions of DDOT Director Kershbaum. First - Rhode Island Ave is one of the few "tier one" high injury network corridors without a dedicated capital project. What steps is DDOT taking to ensure resources are brought to bear on this dangerous corridor?

This is what happens when there is no plan.

You snooze. You win. While you were sleeping, a federal judge issued an emergency TRO: ➖ blocks DOGE from accessing Treasury systems ➖ requires DOGE to "immediately destroy" any material already downloaded Case brought by attorneys general of 19 states Added to the Litigation Tracker⬇️

The damage is going to be experienced everywhere in the country—not just in the places they think are targeting. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

The news is breaking at...well, a breakneck speed. We’ve been receiving more tips and calls for coverage than our small team has the resources to respond to. In FY 2023, about 240,000 people left federal employment, so 50,000 is not a wildly large figure.

H/T to @maustermuhle.bsky.social for the observation. Here's a chart showing DC's population and car registration using 2008 as a baseline for each.

I did something today that I’ve been meaning to do for some time: I subscribed to the New Republic. Would be happy to have company!

Not minimizing the pain that many folks across the region are feeling right now; however, I do think DC's downtown neighborhoods will be much more dynamic with many more full time residents. www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/202...

Our Litigation Tracker is now souped up with interactive Table. ⬇️ Now tracking 23 cases and expecting more to drop soon. Litigation Tracker: Legal Challenges to Trump Administration Actions www.justsecurity.org/107087/track...

This is fun!

112 people died daily in vehicle crashes throughout the US on average in 2023—almost 41,000 people over the course of the year.
