I love the tv show, and it’s an all time favorite comfort watch for me, but the Ma and Pa of the show who always wanted to help those in need are not the Ma who hated natives or the Pa who did blackface in the books.

As a side note, it would do us good to remember that the actual books were a) FILLED with stuff that never would have made the original tv series, and b) edited by LIW’s right leaning, libertarian, often-lumped-in-with-Ayn-Rand daughter - and it often shows.

The minute we say it doesn't matter whether or not what he does is legal, we basically decide we're going to comply with power instead of the law. That's literally a definition of fascism. And I'm not doing that.
No, the law won't stop him. But demanding he follow the law isn't doing nothing.

They also get a half price sale at Barnes & Noble every July and November!

I’m not super picky about who does Freddy Got Fingered, but it really feels overdue for *some* sort of boutique treatment. Shout feels like the most obvious fit, though

As much as I hated it when they added Wall-E, I also took a lot of deep breaths and thought about how doing that might have allowed them to add something less commercial, but more in need of preserving.

Not to mention Basquiat!

Is it wrong that I think having that(exist and) be a boutique label exclusive would be kind of amazing?

Almost like embedded AI that can access all of your corporate data deployed without a Killswitch is a massive, massive ethical violation

Strangely enough, the last time I found this was at a portapotty sized shack just outside Dallas. I don’t ever want to see Texas again, but I still dream of that place.

There is very little television I’ve ever felt could justifiably be part of the collection, but F&G is high on the list

Stoked for Karla Sofía Gascón’s historic nomination on principle, wish she didn’t insult the intelligence of trans writers who critiqued her film on the way there!!!

Thanks, Sydette. Now I’m sad that my orange just tastes like an orange 😥

It’s still really scary, though. The illusion of connection is still something, when compared to the stark reality of admitting you’re in free fall without a net.

This has been my dilemma for longer than I’ve let on. I struggle HARD with feeling isolated, and my mental health crumbles when I’m too alone for too long. FB was my way of remaining connected for years, but it’s become so unusable and evil that the benefit just doesn’t exist the same way anymore.

Thank you! I always forget that YouTube exists when stuff like this comes up. (Also, this is Odd)

I’ve been wanting to do just that for a while, but I can’t find any way to watch it. Really missing the VHS I recorded it on when it aired.
