Alternatively, try to come up with a definition of a markup language that includes HTML, that doesn’t include programming languages. Hint: The bit where it gets tricky, is that HTML defines semantics and not just syntax.

Oh boy, this is a bit of a pet peeve of mine. There is no single unanimously accepted definition of what a programming language is. However, I am confident that I can give an example of a programming language that’s not covered by any definition that doesn’t include HTML.

I interned on a farm as a kid (as part of my schools education). I had to wrestle with an ill tampered gander and a worse tampered ram, it wasn’t fun but repeatable. That said, they never feared for their lives. I don’t know how that would have changed things and I don’t care to find out.

I am still optimistic that we’ll manage this transition, it might just take a lot longer than is sensible. Thank you for your work!

The point I want to make is that knowing how something works isn’t science, figuring out how it works is. In a world with magic, you could apply science to magic and learn more about magic. The word for a magic system that is understandable is engineering.

When I was in university a professor filled a glass of water to the brim and then carefully added some more without the glass overflowing, at that the water formed a small dome. Then he added a ping pong ball. The ball moved to the top of the dome in the center of the water. Nobody knows why.

Was soll das?

If your free articles, the ones that are read by people who don’t have a subscription and might consider buying one, are propaganda, then the people paying for your subscription want more propaganda.

I just caught myself thinking: This isn’t racism, they are just not capable of understanding that there’s any region that does better than the US. But then I realized, it’s racism why they are incapable and why they are picking Africa instead of any other region.

Racism was a useful tool for adding to a nation's wealth in the 1800s and prior.
In the 1900s it was net neutral.
From this point on and into the future, racism is a negative that leads to a nation's downfall and decline. Some of you want to argue with me about this even as the US economy spirals

Relying on China is far from the worst choice these days. At least we don’t have trade or shooting wars in that dependency. And that’s before considering that a cut off from the supply of renewable energy generators doesn’t cut off energy.

I wonder why += is slower than + in that benchmark, I would expect effort them to be equal. It’s possible that the benchmark isn’t really testing what it claims to test. Compilers are quite smart and I would not be surprised if the functions are optimized to almost nothing.

Trump figured out that he can manipulate the stock market at will. I would not be surprised if you see buy or sell orders shortly before these announcements.

Fully agree. What I mean was that there are better ways to pressure the US for not incarcerating innocent travelers than to disappear people here too.

I really hope we don’t start doing this here. It’s bad independent who it’s being disappeared and escalating that just makes it worse. There are better ways.

Yeah, handle data like that and if it’s not for sale somewhere, it’s because everyone interested in it already has it.

The headline is a bit misleading, because the picture shown here is not from Munich. There were large scale protests all over Germany. Overall it’s much more than 200k
