Trump continues to break his biggest promises — and this one will deeply impact many of his own supporters.

The tech mogul has citizenship through his Canadian born mother, Maye Musk.

As Musk rails against government fraud and waste (and gets it wrong), he would do well to remember how much he has benefited from taxpayer funds.

Q: how to 6x DOGE savings ($2.5b)? A: Cut subsidies to Tesla ($15b)

This vote was to start the process of the cuts. It WILL come back for a final vote. There are some chances to slow or potentially stop it. Need constant pressure on GOP Focus on GOP swing seats & key committees. Energy & Commerce is where the Medicaid fight will go down. Ways&Means for tax fight.

Not a bad idea -- if House Republicans refuse to hold town halls in their congressional districts, local Democrats should set one of their own up.

Coming up Live at 4 ET on Uncovered: President Musk’s strange Cabinet meeting w/special guest Trump, the firing email, Repub budget infighting, Janet Mills, town halls, Leavitt’s lies, buying citizenship, Ed Martin’s mania, & tons more! www.youtube.com/live/o9AQYGo...

The White House is instructing agencies to get ready for "Phase 1" of the federal workforce purge. This comes after 30,000 federal employees have already lost their jobs.

Nobody ever tells me what I can and can’t write, which is why independent media is surging and media controlled by billionaire oligarchs is not. My success or failure is determined by the readers, not by a guy circling the globe in an obscene yacht.

Complete batshit lunacy on the president's Truth Social account. Yes, he really posted this.

EPA head Lee Zeldin wants to steal $20B of green www.publicnotice.co/p/lee-zeldin...

According to another NIH source, the agency conducted a keyword search to identify “DEI” grants. All funding for these grants has been frozen.

Jeffries: "Republicans are not the party of fiscal responsibility. Stop trying to convince the American people otherwise. In fact, during Trump's first 4 years, the debt exploded to such a degree that 25% of our nation's debt came from just the first term of President Donald Trump."

They’re cutting Medicaid

If the president defies the courts and Congress does not impeach him for it, the Constitution simply ceases to exist.

Moskowitz: "Thank you for coming to today's hearing entitled, 'Entering the Golden Age.' They probably named it that because the price of eggs is the price of gold, but here we are."

Analyzing data published on DOGE's own website, the Associated Press found that 40 percent of DOGE's "savings" have not saved the government anything. What a joke.

As an excuse to cut Medicaid, Johnson cites fraud—which exists thanks to shady vendors/providers who can and should be prosecuted. But for "waste and abuse," NOTHING beats the for-profit health insurance industry, including Medicare Advantage (which is dispensable, but Project 2025 aims to expand).

NEW: In a lawsuit challenging the Trump administration's freezing of USAID funds, federal judge orders the government to comply and release foreign aid. Judge says the government must pay for all aid work completed before Feb. 13 by 11:59 PM Wednesday.

Neal: "Look at the alignment. $1.2t here for cuts, but $1.2t for tax cuts. Oh, let me figure that one out. They are going to cut Medicaid to justify what it is that they want to do."

About time.

I went to a #TeslaTakedown protest near Philly yesterday to report on a grassroots revolution: thousands of Americans mad as hell at an unelected billionaire oligarchy - and unwilling to take it anymore How taking down Tesla can save our democracy. My new column www.inquirer.com/opinion/comm...

"I never could have imagined, none of us could, that the government of the United States of America would openly ally itself with a fascist political party. In the heart of Europe. In Germany, for God’s sake."

The way predatory people like Musk operate is they get their foot in the door incrementally. Just comply with my email, what’s so hard about that? Then when people give in because they don’t want a hassle, he owns you. Then he comes back next time demanding something much worse.

Here’s my prediction for DOGE: Whatever minimal amount of money it may possibly save in the short term will be far exceeded by the ultimate cost of fixing all of the problems it creates. It’s already an epic failure.

Hegseth says firing of top military lawyers was about making sure "they don't exist to be roadblocks to anything that happens."

With each day's news worse than the day before, I'm wondering how the folks in Europe knew when it was time to get out before the wars. And I can't believe this is reality.

Teachers teach. We need a leaderful movement, and there are leaders all around us.

BREAKING: the stock market. Make America great again!

Back in 2021, @jbf1755.bsky.social & @hcrichardson.bsky.social did an episode about the postal service on their much-missed podcast “Now & Then.” I suggest you have a listen to understand the USPS and the implications of privatization. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/n...

I’m telling you @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social, please watch this. This is the energy. Not egg prices and book tours and strongly worded letters. It’s time to take the gloves off.

There’s something happening in this country.

TRUMP: You have a man who has let a country that had the more beautiful cities get demolished. The most beautiful domes. FOX: But that's Russia's fault, Mr President T: 1,000 year old domes. Everything is demolished. It's sorta like Gaza F: That's Putin's fault T: I get tired of listening to it

Iowa pollster Ann Selzer filed an absolutely blistering response to Trump’s lawsuit against her and Des Moines Register, calling it a flagrant attempt to circumvent the First Amendment. www.thefire.org/sites/defaul...

Dear @cnn.com, The judge did not “vacate” the trial. He adjourned it. Then he appointed an amicus curiae to argue against dismissing the charges. Who writes your headlines?

This is a drug addict who can barely put together a sentence.

Stand with the @apnews.com, stand with the First Amendment!

Trump pardoned the sentence of arguably the single biggest drug trafficker in American history on his second day in office!

Neither Musk nor Trump care whether what they say is true. They don't care about rooting out fraud or saving taxpayer money. The administration is just “flooding the zone,” knowing that the people cannot keep up.

This is why I keep talking about the last ten years as a metastasizing misinformation crisis. Why on EARTH would you think Trump would do anything thoughtfully or strategically? If the media is giving people this impression, it is lying to them

Holy crap. At his town hall last night, Rep. Rich McCormick compared *his own constituents* who asked him tough and fair questions to January 6 insurrectionists

When the wreckage and dust of what these people are doing to our country has settled and the people have finally had enough to throw these jackals out of office, we will never forget the people who enabled it, despite their protestations they weren’t willing accomplices. Never.

Just returned to this dumpster fire after a trip in Europe/Morocco- great food & people. I need to know what you're doing to survive this daily onslaught of bullshittery. I'll go first: limited social media, yoga, music, cooking, creative pursuits, friends. I'm afraid it won't be enough this time.
