One of the reasons I love the cover of the first issue of CAPTAIN AMERICA (on news stands in December of 1940 with a cover date of March 1941) is that Jack Kirby and Joe Simon could see, a year ahead of Pearl Harbor, that fascism would be the enemy. Because they were paying attention.

Some simple but important lessons on power for the people of the United States: 1. Regardless of the law, the President's power functionally extends as far as people are willing to comply, so 2. When the Patriot Act was passed, libraries got requests for patrons’ borrowing history. We were prohibited from disclosing those requests. We deleted and shredded those records and stopped tracking reading history for that reason. ALSO.

A big misconception about Greenland is that since it’s labeled a Danish colony, its residents are just a bunch of white dudes named Kristian—which is extremely harmful and inaccurate. The population is 85% Indigenous! It belongs to the Kalaallit people, not to Denmark and CERTAINLY not to the U.S.
