After you pass thru the functional neurological disorder lobby, you may relax in the functional neurological disorder presidential suite, catch some rays on the functional neurological disorder pool deck, or buy embarrassing tshirts in the functional neurological disorder gift shop. We’ve got it all

In case you’d like to dig deeper or talk more with your care team, I’ve found these very helpful for bringing healthcare workers up to speed on FND diagnosis:

That’s rough - but thanks for sharing your story.
Thing is - scans usually aren’t helpful for diagnosing FND, only for ruling out other conditions.
Unfortunately lots of docs don’t know about the clinical exams you can use to make a positive diagnosis - ie to say “this is FND specifically”

I'm definitely on team "if someone couldn't be bothered to write this, I'm not going to bother to read it" personally. Genuinely interested in critiques of (and improvements to) FEP / ActInf theory tho

Wonder what a similar polemic about reinforcement learning would look like 👀

There definitely are. Motivations range from skepticism about the maths (which I think were warranted earlier in FEP's development; less so now) to personality conflicts with FEP theorists to frustration over not understanding the theory and writing it off as BS. So, quality of arguments vary

Makes a lot of sense - and that sounds like a wise use of mobility aids to me. Congrats on the progress!

Exactly.
Josef Goebbels walked with a leg brace … but that wasn’t *the problem* with Goebbels!
