Of course the plot for A View to a Kill also makes no sense. It's the story of a billionnaire tech-entrepreneur making microchips for the US Military secretly sells his tech to the Russians, and aiming to sow chaos because he's a secret Nazi. Nonsense.

Why is that large swathes of the US government, including your president, old farts who should be in care homes. 😂

Wow I love it! What a beautiful cinema

A similar thing happened to a cinema in Wilmslow near us. Used to go as a kid and a teenager then it shut and fell into disrepair until a family bought it and renovated it

It's a fantastic cinema. Even has a bar upstairs plus a terrace outside. I went there at New Years Eve a few years ago and at midnight, they gave everyone a free glass of Champagne. The place had been a mess before the city invested in bringing it back to its former glory.

God I hate him almost as much as Trump - in Europe we’ve a big job to do to tackle disinformation, misinformation & blatant propaganda. If social media platforms don’t comply they should be banned. We need better laws for tacking all this stuff. True democracy is relatively rare & extremely fragile.

The far right are a big problem now and they are uniting, social media is giving them reach they would never have had before so it is dangerous if you have liberal values. We of course have Mr Toad Farage here, fortunately there won’t be an election for 4.5 years, most people are giving Labour time

I’m quite happy with ours 🇮🇪 and we’ve managed to keep the far right out - just have to wake up in terms of defence and our neutrality naivety 🙄

You just need to look at the size of a vast number of them to realise that (including Trump)

Let’s remember that French citizens have employment contracts, guaranteed health care, and housing rights. So a general strike or work stoppage hurts businesses, but the workers don’t lose jobs. Our” employment at will” laws put American workers at extreme risk in case of a work stoppage.

The claim is based on a continuous constitution with several amendments. As the UK doesn’t have a written constitution there could be an argument that we are not a democracy using the same criteria. Parent nonsense of course when you consider how restricted rights have been in the USA

Just struck me as one of those claims where they start with the answer then work out how to prove it 😂 I have discussed the US constitution many times with Americans and others and pointed out the potential pitfalls. Couldn’t convince anyone, especially Americans.

I’ll leave it to you to prove your claim 😁 Didn’t mean to cause any offence and I certainly agree with your last sentence - the flaws of 🇺🇸 democracy have become abundantly clear and have been well exploited. If anything that should serve as a lesson to us all.

The criteria for comparison is the controversial part but nobody really questions the longevity or modernity of 🇺🇸 democracy - alas it has come to an end and somebody else may well take first place.

If he appoints the generals they are less likely to stage a coup to protect the American people, it’s a takeover and it’s nearly done. Arise King Trump

It’s the only par for the course he will ever get.

Pale males only. It’s blacks, don’t get above your station and women get back in the kitchen and the bedroom. Well he is a 40 child and stuck in aspic. He’s never changed his opinions during his whole life.

The USA the oldest continuous democracy? USA ranks 6th in list and by about 800 years. I know education standards in the USA are pretty low but a quick search on the internet would help you

I had a look at that and it’s a bit contrived in my view, they started with an agenda and went about proving it however they could.

America’s much vaunted constitution with its so called checks and balances seems to be in tatters if you ask me. Trump just drove a coach and horses through it, with a little help from his friends.
