I've been given non-glowing orbs. Two different people have given me crystal balls. One is of real rock crystal, and has beautiful little fractures deep inside that glitter when they catch the light. Does that count?
I don't think it came with huge amounts of tempting but dangerous power, though.

I watched the film as a teenager with my mother and sister. By the end we were helpless with laughter. (Though I think the eye-boob thing was based on an actual funny turn Shelley had while he was at the villa, wasn't it? He imagined Mary with eye-nipples, freaked and ran screaming from the room...)
