There are clear lessons so far - we need a fairer voting system & Labour needs a reset. Trying to out-Reform Reform doesn’t work. Instead of lurching to the right, government urgently needs to rethink its approach. It could start by addressing the genuine concerns of working people by taxing wealth

I'm announcing emergency funding to address a mental health crisis in Lincolnshire, where thousands of people are suffering from delusions, believing that Andrea Jenkyns gives a shit about them.

John Bolton former Trump Security Advisor on CNN describing how Trump's brain works day to day making decisions on National Security & Foreign policy: "These are random neuron flashes.....I compare it (working with Trump) like living inside a pinball machine."

I really hope the last words Pope Francis heard weren't "Do you even own a suit?"

If you know, you know

I still haven't forgiven Liz Truss for killing #theQueen and now J D Vance has seen off the #Pope !

I think the inability of any of the British establishment to acknowledge clearly that Brexit was a terrible mistake is the same cognitive block that prevents people confronting the reality of the British Empire, just a much shorter time period.

Staple this to RFK Jr’s forehead.

It’s extraordinary that so much media still reports on Trump with the old, redundant tools of the trade. He lied about Ukraine, then he tried to extort Ukraine, and having failed he threatens to walk away from Ukraine. The idea that he was ever going to do anything unwelcome to Putin is ridiculous.

Starmer seems to be forgetting that when he gives tech companies a pass as part of this trade deal, he's giving a pass to the people who literally fuelled racist violence on our streets. Not to mention the people who are undermining the safety and mental health of children. And stealing copyright.

“If you don’t like the cost of education, try the cost of ignorance”. Great line! & We’re all paying that price from the 2016 referendum #r4today

Who saw that coming..

Trump just caved in and exempted Smartphones, computers and other electronic components from tariffs. The art of the deal, or the art of being a gormless dickhead making it up as he goes along?

Update!🚨 Trump Admin contacted the 3 US relief workers whilst in Myanmar to inform them they were being made redundant.

Why would you move your manufacturing to America when next week the tariffs might half, or disappear, or double, or grow wings and fly, or be turned into a goblin, or become an emotion, or

Who’s the weak one and stupid one now? What happened to being strong, courageous and patient?? He is a total moron, an embarrassment to the very concept of language and to the entire the human race.

By “not going backward when it comes to Brexit” Starmer is condemning us to going backwards on literally everything else because that’s all we can afford to do. So depressing.

It's funny how the stupidest people of this year - the "Don't worry about what Trump says, he doesn't mean it" brigade - were also the stupidest people of all the Brexit/Truss/Johnson years. It's not funny how they still occupy almost all of the major roles in the commentariat.

👏

Make America great again. Screwed.

Having exausted all other options — having seen all other defenses fail — all our hopes for being rescued from one of the most deranged and stupid national leaders in history now rest with the highest and final authority in this country: the Dow Jones Industrial Average.

I think this the first time Brexit has appeared as an attack line in a major English speaking political campaign.

America has Brexited itself and the world and shown its futility. And still Britain will hold onto Brexit like some kind of emotional support animal.

Why Carney’s experience as Governor of the Bank of England makes him uniquely well-qualified to lead a global coalition of the willing to stand up to the dangerously ignorant populist in the White House. From my latest newsletter open.substack.com/pub/nixons/p...

It's amazing how few people in the UK realise that the last time the world went in to a massive financial tailspin, albeit one not directly caused by the President of the USA, it was Gordon Brown & the late Alistair Darling who provided the sort of international leadership desperately needed now.

Still waiting to find out why Penguins sell so much more stuff to the US than Russia.

Yup. It feels cruel to deny deluded Brexiters their tiny sliver of a ‘win’ but, on the other hand, fuck ‘em. Weakening a country *before* an attack like this is an act of obvious treachery. We would, by any measure, be better off *in* the the EU *with* the 20% basic tariff rate.

Bloody hell. What a point.

I must say Americans dream up such awful horrors.

This is the stupidity the world is up against. BBC reporter asks a Florida voter who he's voting for in election today. He replies Republican bc of family, God & country. Bc they care for veterans. Yet Trump has fired veteran federal workers & cut Vet services. Family? God?Infidelity, abuse, divorce

Brexit can never be delivered. That's the point.
