His last words were: "I ask forgiveness from all the women in the world whose rights are and were stolen by the Catholic church, from all the boys and nuns who are and were raped by our priests, and all the human beings in general who still believe the deadly hogwash that is faith-based religion."
The expression on the pope's face says it all. I imagine it was also the expression he made when Vance asked 'so, am I getting into heaven when I die?'
Nothing says Christlike compassion like wheeling a dying man out for one last PR shot. He had pneumonia, but the Vatican had a narrative to sell. Faith? Nah—just branding. If resurrection doesn’t pan out, at least the optics were solid.
Protect him from what? He was frail & elderly so his death is hardly a shock. He wasn’t scared of dying. You think if he hadn’t made that address he’d have lived much longer? He didn’t want to be wrapped in cotton wool.
He may not be ordered around, but those around him had a duty to protect him, especially in such a fragile state. Leadership isn’t just about saying yes—it’s about knowing when to step in and say no, even to the Pope, for his own well-being. They failed him.
It makes me so sad that Pope Francis had to endure this meeting on the last day of this life. He must have been suffering in so many ways! God Bless him.

“I came to fuck couches and kill the Pope and I ran out of couches.”
