Chili, chicken tikka, steak and veggies, fried chicken with Mac and cheese and greens. - these are all very comforting foods for us.

That would be awesome, truly. We donāt have the infrastructure in place to process the hemp into the types of materials needed, and it would be primarily used for siding (composite board) and or insulation in a home. Main supports would still need to be wood. Alas.

They can get all they want on the dark web, and from meta, and from hacking banks, hospitals, govāt agencies, etc. itās about controlā¦if the oligarchs donāt have it, they donāt like it. They must control the narrative.

I love that. Daggerheart does that, right? Sounds so cool.
I think Advantage/Disadvantage is inspired and very cool.
I also played a system where hit points are directly tied to physical and mental stats. So as you take damage, you lose your bonuses organically. Crunchy but cool.

Iām with you, I really like the skill/feature development model of Shadowrun, Traveller, The Laundry, etc. it feels more organic to me.
I never really got into card games, theyāre obviously fun but the medium doesnāt sing to me.
Oh, I checked out your site, Iāmma give some of those a peep for sure!

I hear you. 3/3.5e was pretty dope, I enjoyed it a lot.
Honestly, my biggest problem with D&D is not with the game but with the company. Seems like theyāre just being a-holes. Which seems really counter productive.

But I like the reframing of character maintenance focus onto role play away from optimization. But thatās just me. Itās the same reason Iām less inclined to play a lot of PF 2e.

It must be a ādifferent strokesā situation because I found tracking feat progression paths for prestige classes exhausting. (Cool to be sure, but exhausting)
I like the subclass structure for specialization for its simplicity. Obviously, since 5e is less crunchy, the customization takes a hit 1/

Without jumping games. Throw a whole new ruleset into the mix and thereās far less interest.
With or without having to read.
Iāve played/GMād many systems and I play D&D as it is a known environment. Of all the iterations Iāve played, 5e is hands down the easiest to grasp.

D&D is a known and pretty much mainstream option at this point.
As a DM, I volunteer to teach the game during play, and itās no different from any other TTRPG Iām running.
I think the biggest factor barring game jumping is time. People are busy, shit, itās hard enough to keep a campaign going /1
