Hey hey, thanks so much that's very kind! as yo've guessed, I've wrapped up development on this project and will probably not return to it anytime soon. Summerhouse was always supposed to be a very small project so I moved on to the next game pretty soon after releasing it :)

True true! Also underappreciated in both his and Mignola's work: incredible sense of color.

Ooo that looks juicy as hell

I loved it! on top of the impressionistic quality that you mentioned, I love how it visually unifies everything on screen by enforcing a shared level of detail and hiding the transitions between props a bit.

wow I wish I had that sort of dedication. I try to do some reading about my subject matter but often find myself being to impatient to get *really* deep into it.

Great shout to use Figma for assembling boards! Thanks <3

Gorgeous stuff!

They are completely separate projects with their own assets actually. I rebuilt the scene twice in order to make a decision between the two styles :)

Good shout! will try that next

Thanks! I'll definitely sit down and do a little write up at some point :)

Thanks Flo! It's modelled after my grandma's greenhouse, so it's funny you'd call this out specifically <3 What is it about half-lambert that you think would work better here? I've never consciously used that type of lighting I think.

Thanks! Yeah I'm with you I think.

yeah I only noticed today how bad it actually is. Is there like a secret trick for uploading that makes the quality better?
comment in response to post
hahaha, gonna call him the uncle from here on out
comment in response to post
yeah it's so bad, is there a trick to make it better somehow?

Thanks! This is very early experimenting so the style will probably change quite a bit. At the moment I think I'm going to go for a 3D style instead of the pixel art. Character will probably be customizable in the game!
