i am going to ruin all of my relationships by forcing everyone to play the Skin Deep demo. it's generational. somehow better than my favourite game ever (quadrilateral cowboy).

It's been weird recently. I've stopped checking social media. It annoys me at this point, I cannot stand it. It feels like a bug has been removed from my system.

Honestly if you're the kind of person to self-doubt about if you're able to make video games / code / do art / map / whatever, you just need to look at the majority of people who make games. You're not dumber than Jonathan Blow.

Honestly it's rare you get a designer like Hugo Martin in the AAA space. Bold, defined design choices which aren't just 'lets make the previous thing again but slightly improved'. Eternal was a huge leap for better and worse from 2016, and I think TDA will be the same.

Modern flashy 'everything is a mask' and 'everything smoothly transitions/scrolls' web design sucks. Whenever I see a website trying to emulate late 90s/early2k web design it makes me so fuckin' happy.

Still feeling down, so I'll remind myself of couple of my Quake oldies, why not. The first thing I ever contributed to a Quake Jam: Mutagensis, and the terribly named Abbeytoir, that manifested after playing too much Bloodborne. Lots I'd like to go back and fix, but I'm learning to appreciate 'em.

Unfortunately, with TikTok soon to be banned I actually have to become productive. So, I've gotten elevators to work. These will function as the transitions between most of the levels (excluding some special occasions) so I guess this is actually a pretty big milestone?

Game Idea #41: Game with a banging OST + dynamic difficulty, vocals only come in when the dynamic rank is at max.

Rabbit and Steel is quite interesting for how it adapts the key broad gameplay elements that make MMO group content appealing, but trims almost all of the fat. No healers or tanks, no need for dispels or resistances, simple rotations. A lesser designer would have made a much less laser-focused game.
