Anhedonia sucks. You don't know if everything is dull and lame or if you're just doing bad mentally. Judging by the calendar, I should be expecting this

Jamaica agua fresca is everything I wanted tamarind to be. Been making a version of it with chamomile and valerian root and it's really been helping chill out my weekends.

I don't know what it says about me as a person, but my favorite thing in any live performance is when someone screws up and then they catch it and recover. Punk rock shows, indie wrestling, comedy, that's what I'm really there to see. Struggle and resilience. I'm not interested in perfection.

Call it Chicago EMO with your whole chest you scared of cities coward. It's not "midwest" it's from CHICAGO.

Almost everything that's bad about AI is also bad about cover bands. Coverbands are the AI of live music.

Yo.... I just woke up this morning, made incredibly fluffy biscuits from scratch, cooked some sausage patties, used the grease and a little olive oil with salt and pepper to fry some flour, then added milk to make gravy. One of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time.

Not sure who needs to hear this but one cannot “deport” a citizen. Thank you.

I feel like Bluesky is too pure to shitpoast on. but I also feel that if I don't stop shitpoasting on corporate social media, they will continue to exist when they should be replaced. I just wish I had the network on this platform that I do on the corporate ones. Which you get by shitpoastin

You can just grind up roasted cashews in a mortar and pestle and add a little oil and have delicious cashew butter and noone can stop you.

I think I've gotten to using bluesky strictly for news, but I'd prefer to use it for a lot more. I have a show at Hernando's Hideaway in Memphis in like, an hour. I don't know how many memphis people can see this but it won't start being more until I start promoting here more.

Simple garlic butter shrimp on rice is hard to beat. A little salt, msg, garlic powder, italian seasoning, and black pepper go a long way into a top tier meal.

Gasoline can't burn steel machines. The tesla fires are an inside job.

Any body else watch too many #camping videos? My three top channels are Outdoor Boys, Greg Ovens, and Rirang on the Air. Close runners up are Really Big Monkey and Wild Beare. I will watch someone cook snacks over a small fire in the woods all day.

I still have this crazy, stupid dream, where on very nice days, I go to a public park and run an absolutely tiny food stand from a bicycle, serving lentils and rice out of wax paper cones. I know it seems so silly, but I bet I could make bank selling cheap vegan food from whole ingredients.

Just a massive, public fumble. Trump looks like a mask off russian asset. There will be no US deal. Trump will cut funding and europe will take up the slack. Watching Trump roll like a punk for Putin is stomach turning.

If you've got a slow bake dinner that takes a while like a frozen lasagna, put it in the oven and then do a workout while it's cooking. When it's done you'll have a recovery meal at the perfect time.

People smear soy protein so bad, but textured vegetable protein (TVP) is one of the best things to toss in a cheap ramen. A little oil, a little bouillion, a dried noodle cake, some tvp, and some water, and you've got a banging 5 minute microwave meal.

Made my snow cream with just three ingredients: snow, vanilla flavoring, and condensed milk. Still turned out great.

@violentjay.bsky.social is @blindboyboatclub.bsky.social, and @shaggy2dope.bsky.social is @mrchrome.bsky.social and no, I will not be accepting questions at this time.

Dipping strawberries in chocolate is remarkably simple and effective. Takes a little while for the double boiler to get going but once you get past that awkwardness there's not much to it. I will say I wish I'd sat them on their stems instead of the side to harden; they would have been much prettier

Two racks of ribs, 20 chicken thighs, and 10 pounds of cubed pork tenderloin, all marinaded in light soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, and my secret blend of spices. It's gonna be nothing but delicious prepped dinners for the next 2 weeks and I am stoked.
