My daughter and I were down there both days this weekend. It’s my favorite thing in Seattle.

I think a lot of people use it as a placeholder for “establishment” or “status quo” while they seek more radical change.

I've had the exact same experience. I bike my daughter to school every morning. It's a highlight of both of our days, and it feels great to get a bit of fresh air and body movement before my work day.

I think this may have more to do with your wealth and positions than it does the platform.

In the heyday of Twitter, something would be happening at any tier of culture and there would be some people discussing it live. Threads never worked because it was always stuck 12 hours in the past. Bluesky feels present tense, it just needs more people participating to fill in the gaps.

There are people in my family that believe to this day that CHOP (or CHAZ, as I remember it) burned down several city blocks in Capitol Hill to seize control.

I see plenty of diversity of thought. I’ve had many polite disagreements. What I haven’t had is racial and homophobic slurs slung at me from Nazis. I don’t seek that form of “diversity”.

They've already lost. One Home Depot raid and they had to FEDERALIZE the guard when 100 unarmed neighbors protested? This regime is in trouble. Big trouble.

My daughter started at an in-person preschool in fall 2020. She wore a mask everyday, there was additional cleaning, parents were all good about communicating potential exposures with each other.
3 years went by without any incidents.

I feel pretty plugged in and I missed that one entirely. That’s not a good sign.

I don't understand trolling Trump with the tacos. Do people want the tariffs? Him "chickening out" is a good thing, yes?
Also, those are indeed the worst looking tacos I have ever seen. Gross.

I love how for 90% of the song, it sounds like James Murphy is just super excited to be hosting Daft Punk, but then he starts singing "and I'll never ever let them goooooo" and it sounds like a kidnapping.

"I asked you to go to the Green Day concert
But you said you never heard of them
How cool is that?"

An amusing subplot of this circus has been people like Bongino and Duffy discovering that the jobs they've been arbitrarily appointed to are actually very demanding and difficult.

Also great to see so many people out and about, but unfortunate that nobody in Alki knows what a bike path is for.

For someone who spends more time hanging out with lawyers than anything else besides golfing, he sure doesn’t seem to actually know what due process is.

Cars cutting left on these small neighborhood roundabouts is a huge pet peeve of mine. Probably the most common way I'm almost hit.
