Thank you! I enjoy group activities with pens and a timer because it forces us to draw a lot and not worry too much - because everyone's stressing about the same constraints!

π¬ If you have feedback or pointers to similar projects, please comment/reply or DM me! Same if you're interested in writing one of these.
Thanks! π

If anyone wants to host their own cartooning meet or workshop with easily facilitated activities for all skill levels... please DM me!
We had 26ish attendees? Lots of participation in the guided activities section. I want to write up a little public report of how it went for future reference. π»π‘

I also wanted to say this January I'm in this weird mix of feeling activated: starting new creative projects like with Furrest City, getting into Cleveland DSA's Trans Liberation Project, going to Stonewall!! π₯
But I'm also trying to WINTER! Trying to rest and hibernate. βοΈ Ooo girl balance is tough

I just paused a podcast of Lama Rod Owens. He's been my spiritual teacher of choice since 2020. π»
I wanted to say in this weird public social media space: I often think of myself as a gay elder in training, and a gay ancestor in training.π― This helps me immensely when seeing fascism make moves.π

Ever since I went to my first local meet, a picnic! With fursuiters doing lawn games?! I didn't realize such a thing existed so close to me.
I've seen meets focus on fursuiting and food (for good reason). So just totally PUMPED to have one focused on drawing - not on artists! Drawing, for all furs!

I wrote a proposal for the board: activities, location, my background, strategy to build participation and leadership.
Excited to bring Lynda Barry games, Comics in the Circle group experience, workshop experience to building an org... and I've wanted to do a drawing-focused meet ever since...

This is more to document the process though. Furrest City has incorporated as a non profit to eventually hold a con in Cleveland (we don't have one).
They now have a board. Their strategy has been to host meets to drum up interest. Train rides and city walks and bike rides so far!

I'm not alone in this, I'm not isolated. All isolation is illusion. My task is to stay in direct connection with my friends, family, comrades, community. And I stay silly. I will continue to draw funny animal people. They help! β€οΈ

I write this because I'm wrestling with long term goals.
Do I want to teach at a university like Lynda Barry? Start my own for-profit "Comics Room" like the local pottery studio?
Or keep my day job the same?
And then... what's my work as an organized socialist in the increasingly fascist US?

I'd tell him that this is a balance between having access to money and medical care, doing meaningful day job work, benefitting humanity and the environment by democratically transitioning to socialism, and doing what he loves.
Then I'd point him to his local comics making group and DSA chapter. :3

I really like your diary comics. They really stand out to me, compared to other diary comics AND to other furry artwork.
And the fact that you do so much black and white work really soothes me in a furry world that makes me feel pressured to always use color!β€β€β€
