There's a deep dive on @gailguerrero.bsky.social's THE SKULL & LAUREL story "Cartesiana" over on @reactorsff.bsky.social today! A great analysis of this Weird wild piece. reactormag.com/coordinate-d...

Got an amazing review in reactor for my short story "CARTESIANA", first published in @voidspacezine.bsky.social and reprinted in @tenebrouspress.bsky.social The Skull & Laurel 001. Thank you so much @r-emrys.bsky.social and Anne M. Pillsworth 🖤🙏🏼🖤

This is the first story I ever wrote and published in English. Thank you Vocivia team for reprinting it in Issue 5, it means a lot 🖤💀🖤

Happy New Year! We've posted a submission call for BIPOC writers only. We're looking to acquire one excellent horror/Weird fiction collection for our 2026 publishing calendar. Find details at this link, and if your collection is ready now, send it our way! cursedmorsels.com/submission-c...

🚨🌍✨ Our international call for submissions is now OPEN! Writers, artists, and scholars, we invite YOU to contribute to our prestigious yearly issue, available in print & digital. Don't miss this chance to share your voice with the world! 🖌️📚 #CallForSubmissions #WritersLife

On that note: Trans authors (I mean authors who are trans, NOT cis people who write about trans people), drop your book links here and I'll try to repost as many as I can throughout the day. Cis people: Repost trans authors' book links. Cis people who want to complain about being excluded: gtfo

Your reminder that legislation to curb the rights of trans people to use restrooms or do anything else means everyone's behaviour, clothing etc will be opened up to intrusive and unwanted scrutiny and potential challenge in our daily lives. This is not a 'them' issue. Trans rights are human rights.

Hey everyone I need recs for YA comedy books that are not rom-coms...for reasons 👀 It can be comedy mixed with other genres (horror, fantasy, thriller, contemporary) but no romance please 🙏🏼 If you've recently read a YA that made you LOL please let me know! #WritingCommunity

Seems like it's a good time to come back to Bluesky 🦋

Came back to Bluesky and found this recommendation for my short story "CARTESIANA" 🥺 This already made my day 🥹 Thank you so much @bogiperson.bsky.social I love your enthusiasm for my little story and TS&L 💀🖤

If you're a BSFA member, don't forget @gailguerrero.bsky.social's "Lost in Transcription" from Radon Issue 5 is eligible under Best Short Fiction. Abigail's audio version (published by @spacecowboybooks.bsky.social) is also eligible for a vote in the Best Audio Fiction category! #BSFAAwards2023

Bespoke Adoption Agency guarantees satisfaction—for the paying parents, not the adopted child. Read the mind-watering story by @gailguerrero.bsky.social, recently featured in @bookjockeyalex.bsky.social's "Must Read Short Speculative Fiction: September 2023" Read + listen: radonjournal.com/issue5

If I ever get to be important enough to edit my own anthology, it has to be about cats. "Puss & Huss: An Anthology of Feline Horror", with SFFH stories about evil cats trying to murder their owners, witch familiars, cat-shifters, and saber-toothed tigers resurrected with genetic engineering.

My microfiction piece "TERMS AND CONDITIONS" is now published in Hearth & Coffin's micro issue! Lots of amazing authors are featured in this one, and since the pieces are so short, one can read it super fast! www.hearthandcoffin.com/post/terms-a...

All the other specfic magazines are going to be SO confused when they start receiving ~500 crab-themed submissions at once right after the rejections from this one are out LMFAO (And yeah, there's a big, big chance that I'll be one of the weirdos sending them) 🦀

"ai is making it so everyone can make art" everyone can make art dumbass it came free with your fucking humanity

Ok, silly question for the writing community. How can I make a post to appear in a certain feed here on BlueSky? Like, if I post something about 'short spec fiction' or 'kidlit' how do I tell the app to send it to the 'spec fiction' or 'kidlit' feeds?

My short story 'Lost in Transcription' has been published in Radon Journal, still can't believe I have a story in this amazing magazine, and it's free to read!

Issue 5 of Radon Journal is coming this Friday, and I have a short story in! I can't believe I've made it this far🥲

Is any of the many spec magazines that opened for subs this week taking horror comedy? Asking for a friend. That friend is me.
