Two weeks ago my super came to fix a broken window. He clearly did not have the right parts, left my window entirely open for an hour unattended, dropped a piece out of my 4th story window, then had the absolute balls to look me in the eye and claim that the problem was "Chinese parts."

Hmmm, slightly suspicious that one of my favorite writers *also* has immaculate music taste?

I really don't think anyone is ignoring what's happening on the trump side of things. But they are not responding effectively. Which is also why I'm in favor of new leadership. Which ties back into identifying and being honest about the mistakes of past/current leadership.

Those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it, etc.

It's the same issue. Any Dem who can't realistically acknowledge that 2024 was a fuckup is more interested in towing the party line than actually doing anything meaningful.

Genuinely, what does "focus on the future" mean, if not "learn from and improve on past mistakes?"
comment in response to
post
Agree that we should focus on future. I believe that part of that is making sure we have better people making better decisions.

It would be good to hold the people who fucked up this election accountable before they fuck up another one?
comment in response to
post
It would be nice to see some accountability from a party that has fucked up two winnable elections against a reality show criminal.

If you are truly this bad at understanding nuance, there's no combination of words I could ever say to make you understand. Good luck out there; I imagine anything more complex than a traffic light presents some real challenges for you.

You seem unable to grasp the simple concept that being forced to live in a particular system or situation doesn't mean you endorse it.

And meanwhile I would like it if 100+ gummies were more readily available so I don't have to house a whole package. High weed tolerance is kinda annoying.

Well, I'm not much of a Kanye fan. I do think that if you're someone who cares about art, it's very possible to acknowledge that someone is talented and influential, even if their art isn't to your taste. But mostly I just think you've missed the aim and context of the original post.
comment in response to
post
The original post is speaking to people who at some point held the majority/consensus view (Kanye was a good and influential musician) and are trying to ret-con this view in light of his politics. If you always felt differently to the consensus view, the post is not addressing you.
comment in response to
post
You're always allowed to have your own subjective opinions and that's not what the original post is about at all.

I think it's interesting how we only really do this with art. What if the person who built your couch or sewed your pants was a shithead? Would it change how you feel about the couch?

Yes, this is my experience. Making music genuinely is the most fun thing I know how to do, why would I outsource that to a computer??
