I guess 95% of Apple users have never turned on this feature (you have to opt in, it isn’t an out of the box feature) and probably don’t even know it exists! So for most of us it has no practical impact.

For most of us there is no gap. Most people won’t have even opted into this feature. You have to turn on ADP. I’m guessing most people haven’t and don’t even know this feature exists. So in practical terms your data is no less safe than it was before.

This probably impacts 2% of Apple customers who even bothered to turn on this feature (yes you have to opt in - not a default feature). The rest of us 🤷🏻♂️.
