If you're interested, a quick way to block knitting is to pin to shape dry, then pass a steaming iron over the fabric, being sure not to flatten the knit (gentle hover a couple mm high). The steam is all you need to set the stitches and shape.

I usually prefer a smaller, asymmetrical knot. Unless the tie construction is too flimsy and the knot needs padding.

It was an easy way to increase the lighting in a space without having to carry out lots of new wiring and plastering in those too-dark spaces. That's what I recall, at any rate. Imagine having to replicate that plastered ceiling texture! 😂
