It's really difficult. Fear, shame, and helplessness sustain the cycle, and the experience of it can generate all of those emotions in spades, even when someone's experience doesn't involve such... physicality. It helps to not feel like an alien. Really, we all need to be taking care of each other.

As for the latter... I'm not sure what it'll take to get out of the woods for good, especially since it's an extension of something I've dealt with since my single digits. But, at least I have *enough* control over it to stay out of the hospital. A year ago, I really wasn't sure of that.

My use really became a problem when I was in an emotionally abusive relationship in 2023. And, that's also when sh became a much more frightening and disruptive part of my life. 2024 healed a lot of the wounds that led to that. It feels good to be more sober and surrounded by better people.

I'm designing a guitar pedal that's meant to sound like a TB303. The rest of it is pure analog, including a ladder filter and all that. So there's an analog stage that's already converting the input signal to a square wave, and I'm planning to have the MCU piggyback off of that.

This is a particular case where the input is a clean square wave, so can be treated as digital
The *only* thing the MCU needs to do is track the frequency of that square wave and output a sawtooth wave that follows it, with no phase-matching requirements. I think it can just barely be done idk

Apparently it has a PLL that allows the PWM to operate at double the frequency of the 8 MHz internal oscillator... add a carefully designed 4th-order low-pass filter and I think this could actually work. You really want Nyquist above 20KHz, so sample rate above 40KHz, and this gets us 62.5KHz.

Assuming no external timing crystal, the device runs at 8 MHz. Using two PWM outputs (which I think it can do??) at 256 clocks per period, summing and then filtering them, you get a 31.25 KHz sample rate, which might be enough for a simple sawtooth wave. And you get 256 cycles to calculate a sample.
