Don't read the urbanism bros' reposts. Don't do it. Why did you do it?

“Why are incarcerated people dying from lack of food or water, even as private companies are paid millions for their care?” that would be why.

Ottawa garden folk: End of (parking lot garden centre) season #PlantSale on at the Superstore on Richmond. I picked up a bunch of strawberry plants for $2.44 ea and some spinach for $0.94. Lots of tomatoes, herbs, cabbage, broccoli, annuals.

I was honoured to be part of the Neha Review Panel dialogues with women, two-spirit and gender-diverse people in the provincial and federal prisons in Nova Scotia this week. The conversations exposed the myriad of ways in which housing precarity and homelessness are connected to criminalization.

All the fuss Ottawa made about Halifax library when we should have been envying the ferry.

Working on a quilt from a stack of Kris' decommissioned band/music tees. Super happy with this weekend's progress. Maybe borders next weekend and then quilting the batting and backing.

Well done, Halisky and friends. Thanks. Some great suggestions. My map is full.

Halifax recommendations? There next week for work but would have a bit of spare time.

Hope the vegans who snack took cover in time. We were planning to head over but those skies did not look friendly. #ottcity #hail #onStorm

I love when folks visiting from Montreal point out how great Ottawa cycling infrastructure is and how much nicer it is to bike here than in Montreal. That was absolutely my experience after moving back to Ottawa from Montreal. I much prefer biking in Ottawa.

Shelly Moore-Frappier, chief of Temagami First Nation said that while First Nations in northern Ontario aren’t against development, “that doesn’t mean we’ll stand by while our lands and rights are stream-rolled by a short-sighted desire for profit and prestige.” #NotRedTape

“Our Treaty is not red tape. Our children’s future is not red tape.” Testimony from @gcfiddler torches Ford’s push to fast-track development at the expense of Indigenous rights. Bill 5 isn’t just flawed—it’s an assault on Treaty obligations, on justice, on the future. (Repost: Lise Vaugeois)

The pair of tulips from my garden that survived the squirrels. Can they survive Delaware?

Never knowing when the last time you'll see all your new and old conference buddies before everyone takes off is always the saddest part of the conference. Safe travels, everyone. I look forward to the next time we reconnect. #CAG2025

Great experience so far with BCtransit in Victoria. Big plus compared to OCtranspo is that a day pass is equivalent to 2 rides not 3. Out-and-return fare ($6) open free transit for the rest of the day.
