Her dog herds us into the living room so that we can all sit on the couch together and watch the eagles! And when I'm away, she texts me important updates

Oh my god my mom has been watching this livestream on the big screen in her living room almost 24 hrs a day for the last year. I’m so thrilled to know we’re not the only ones addicted to the eagle cam

The millennial experience is just finding out over and over things don't suck accidentally, but very on purpose, and often things were actually starting to be ok and got made worse by wealthy bigots

It was the moment I finally understood why it had been made at all

It's just such a good parody! And I think about the confession scene from this a lot...the first time I saw the movie, I was left staring at the screen with the exact same bewildered expression as Ewan McGregor

thank YOU for making it! I'm looking forward to what new, ill-advised romantic decisions Denver and Daniel will make next year

You should be proud!! It's such a gorgeous comic and I personally find it really creatively inspiring

God I'd forgotten how many of my favorite songs and albums came from your recs! I haven't recovered from Sophie Hunter and Bottom of the River is still one of my favorites to belt out in an empty apartment

Last page! It's a little silly but very earnest

Not exactly fanart, but I did use Barbarous as the centerpiece for a class assignment about webcomics! I'll add the last page in a second reply

Haven't updated this thread in a while whoops The Husky & His White Cat Shizun Vol. 1 - Hm. Solid 2 Knew this was popular but didn't realize it was bc of messy love/hate romance. I understand now ☺️ y'all nasty 👍 Gorgeous cover but can't really judge the story 'til I've finished

poor Stef! he has to be extra hard-ass because of that babyface

Sidestepping the PAIN for a sec to appreciate how BABY Stef looks. not just because he’s cute but because of how it visually complements the reminder that he's new to the band

There may be other colleges and universities closer to home with similar classes, too! Might be worth looking into

This is a weird suggestion, but if your uncle is okay working with students, there’s a graduate grant writing course at San Jose State where students pair up with clients to write grant apps for them. I'm taking it and could ask the prof about suggesting his museum as an option for next semester

Drakengard by Yoko Taro et al. - Yikes. 2 We're allowed to play/watch games too, so I watched an LP and wooooow. Horrible game play, sloppy plot holes, but WEIRD STRONG CONCEPTS. I hope someday they do a remake because there's a lot of good in there

The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo - A Charming 2! I avoided this book like the plague as a child but I was clearly being a hipster about it because it's a really solid fairy tale! Migs was my favorite and I particularly enjoyed the narrator's vocab lessons

Strega Nona's Magic Lessons by Tomie de Paola - Solid 2 This is such a charming little picture book. I was somehow unaware of the grand legacy of Strega Nona's picture books before this and must rectify it immediately. Still contemplating the gender politics, though

San Diego has a LOT of Australian eucalyptus! Someone decided to import them to build railroads since the Australian climate is "similar" to CA. But eucalyptus drop branches when it's dry, so they're TERRIBLE for building! The project was abandoned but they're still growing 100 years later

The Reformatory by Tananarive Due - A perfect 2 Honestly one of the most intense books I've read in a long time. In a ghost story set in 1950 Jim Crow Florida, the ghosts are not and could never be the villains

Ghosts in the House! - A SOLID 2 I thought it'd be extremely funny to follow up Mistborn with a picture book and I was right. The woodcut style of this is SO CUTE and it's in season, no notes
