This is the part that always drives me crazy: GOP bootlickers start every comment with “We all know Trump is a master negotiator “…huh? Show me one shred of evidence of this.

What gives me hope? The dream of a massive stroke: I mean, an “Anthony Hopkins in Legends of the Fall” level stroke - where he has to write “hamburger” or “more spray tan” or whatever on the little chalkboard around his neck.

I think this is exactly right. It’ll go for a short time, until he’s felt like he can claim “victory”. Nothing will have been gained. That’ll be the extent of it, beyond him endlessly crowing about it.

I really hope more federal and local agencies jump onto Bluesky. In the end it was the only thing keeping me on X (weather emergency info, etc.)

There are a ton of countries that do it (most, actually). What I’m wondering is, Is there any way to relieve the death-grip the insurance industry has on healthcare in the U.S.?

I don’t see any way for the U.S. to fix the problems you accurately describe (and then some) with the insurance industry involved. So my question is: How to eliminate/reduce the insurance industry’s role in healthcare? Is it even possible?

My guess is because of the absolute grip Starlink has on satellite data?

I don’t think it’s “the inertia of bureaucracy” that will help, and I don’t think that’s the point being made. It’s the action of engaged citizens, press and interests that’ll slow down or stall his authoritarianism.

Looks good! A strong silhouette booster like this means the character palette and materials don’t have to work so hard to separate the character from the environment!
