I think the way that subgenre labels are attached to things so quickly in the past decade or so (thinking about the whole dubstep/brostep thing) has really made it easy to pigeonhole artists that deserve a lot more credit. but like fuck me I'm one dude I can't change culture lol

if I made something like it that was also faithful to myself people wouldn't call it botanica because it'd be mostly synthetic. which is one of the criticisms I've had with the name from the beginning but still not a reason people should've stopped making the style.

I agree on missing the vox but I can't lie I actually like the hook in this bassline better than the high pitched synth hook in the original even though it's so iconic
