Yes! Iâve been screaming this (to myself) for years. We know what the world looks like without regulation! Is this why they hate education? They donât want people to have access to this information? Rivers on fire, children dying in locked factories. Regulations are good, people!

Dude, you didnât need to say that.

I had a regular Day of the Tentacle box for Mac in my attic for decades. When I moved, I looked it up on ebay was shocked at how much it was selling for. I was obsessed with Rebel Assault, Dark Forces, Sam and Max, and Full Throttle. But for whatever reason, I never played Day of the Tentacle.

Wow. If they put that much effort into *actual* political activism, they might actually accomplish something.

Iâve seen a number of otherwise-sensible people claiming CEO Cocks is lying about the price hikes and tariffs. It feels like folksâ anger at a greedy CEO is stronger than their understanding of tariffs.

I know itâs a strawman, but based on some comments I saw on TikTok during the election, I imagine thereâs a few folks claiming âKamala would have been just as bad as Trump!â I do seriously wonder if any of the âboth partiesâ folks have reflected on the situation in the face of Trumpâs actions.

Ooh, I haven't thought about him for a while. I'm gonna check out my library app for some Concrete comics.

I would guess: the more who do it, the less likely the big media companies are to call it out. If itâs becoming popular amongst the dictatorship, the big news orgs wonât want to put themselves in the crosshairs.

Lol, that is EXACTLY what I thought!

At this point, does the general public even give a fuck? Theyâve proven theyâre happy to vote for a tyrant if he promises to lower grocery prices. Iâm not sure a piss tape would change anything now.

I didnât know about Matt. Doing some catching up and, yeah, this really hampers my excitement for the new Mega Man comics.

âI think most people on the left agree that [a bunch of stuff I made up].â I hate this kind of writing. It reeks of its own bias. âDEI programming.â Claiming insight to a broad swath of people he clearly doesnât belong to. Just another âDems are too far to the left!â screed.

Eh⊠I havenât seen a Garth Edwards movie that I liked. In fact, quite a few that I strongly dislike.

Maybe start at school board. I think we need to spread our ideology, get more people on board, get good candidates, then get people to vote for them.

Iâm seeing a lot of words being spilled from someone whose bio says âactions are louder than words.â You know that posting about revolution in social media isnât actually a revolution, yes?

I donât understand how you can be so hard-lined about Substack, then elsewhere in this thread confess to using Meta, whose owner helped bankroll Trumpâs inauguration party, joining him onstage. Are we being morally absolute or not?

Thatâs just never going to happen. What have you seen to make you believe that millions of people will ever get off their asses and put their lives on the line to accomplish a common goal? Thereâs zero organization.

Ma and Pa Suburbanite are never going to revolt. Itâll just be another âomg, can you believe the horrors, Iâm scaredâ moment, before we go back to our routines. A great deal of this nationâs citizens donât even know a thing about Congress, let alone care whoâs arrested.

The error in your comment is âhope,â in other words, not taking action to make it happen. Why is the left so bad at organizing a political opposition? Why is the right so good at it? Is fear of the âotherâ an inherently better motivator? Is asking people to care an impossible goal?

Will there be a tipping point when white suburbanites experience enough consequences of Trumpâs bad policies to outweigh the favorable media coverage?

There is an immaturity regarding a lot of folks understanding of how elections work. I was an idealistic (dumb) youth who voted 3P in 2000. But then I learned that, oops, the Republicans were worse, and I learned about the Electoral College and how it prevents 3rd parties.

They treat it like a boycott. I donât like JK Rowlingâs transphobia, so Iâm not buying any Harry Potter merch. Theyâll say they donât like the Demsâ role in genocide, therefore theyâre not voting Dem. But voting doesnât work like the earlier example.

And if you want to talk about âwarmongers like youâve never seen,â I have to ask, how old are you? I lived through the George W Bush administration. The George HW Bush administration. No Democrat has instigated wars on that level in my lifetime.

Iâm level headed enough to understand the American electoral system. At the Federal level, it is a truth that one or the other party will win. Therefore, Iâm voting to keep the worst person out of office. Anything less than that is complacency with the worst option.

And what did you accomplish? How can you look at the part three weeks of Trump executive orders and still claim âboth parties are the sameâ? This propaganda is putting you fools to sleep. You think you can opt out of the system, but the system wonât opt of your life. Youâve just removed your voice.

New York State has protections for LGBT people. Louisiana has outlawed trans health care. Because of Trump appointed SCOTUS, same sex marriage is likely on the chopping block. Shut the fuck up with your holier-than-thou, sanctimonious âboth partiesâ bullshit.

Yes, exactly! These are the same people who say the insurrection was merely a sightseeing tour. And then turn around and claim the George Floyd protests "burned down entire cities." The mask has been off for a good while now.
