Can we use the chickens to sweep the forests in California? (Or at least get fried chicken out of the deal?)

I wonder if some voters are repelled by candidates who remind them of their own inadequacies? Nobody feels inferior to Trump. He is as repulsive as they come. Maybe that kind of voter enjoys that feeling of being superior?

maybe not in word quite yet but certainly in practice

Even if you weren't so exceptionally bad-ass and fearless, you are helping other people in the United States by just being Puerto Rican. We are stronger together.

First time the loyalty oath will be to trump instead of the country (though the old loyalty oaths sucked also) Meanwhile, nobody holds Congress to their oath to protect the Constitution. Cornyn and Cruz of Texas are firmly wedged up trump's behind.

I thought we got France's support because they were in conflict with England as well. They wanted to weaken Britain's trade advantages. Also, Trump's demand for mineral rights offered nothing in return and he's notorious for not paying up anyway.

I suspect it is a plan to force privatization (with Musk and Trump either owning the entities or getting kickbacks/brokering fees)

Really wish Conor Lamb had won that primary

Of the Senators, I think we'd do well to listen to Whitehouse, Klobuchar, and Duckworth. In the House, Joseph Neguse, Jahana Hayes, Ritchie Torres, Madeleine Dean, and Pete Aguilar impress me the most. Of those not currently holding office, Buttigieg and Harris.

That is, in general, the Republican philosophy: Measure your strength by your opponent's weakness. Or, put another way, "the kind of people who cannot enjoy a good meal unless they know someone else is starving."

Where's Canada? 😆

I don't know anything about Greenwald except the name. I despise all of the rest of them. Crenshaw has no moral compass. We see that in Texas frequently.

This is a photo from the Web. I bought 4 bare root Angel Face climbing roses last year and tow of them died in our drought but I have two left. Haven't had a bloom yet, though.

did he fall asleep? It's so cute when they do that.

Buttigieg is a great communicator for those who are interested in facts, but the people who need convincing are seeking validation for their grievances over being (truthfully) labeled as racist, homophobic, xenophobic, ignorant, and greedy. You can't reach them by appealing to their compassion.

A nation shouldn't support a tax system that allows the creation of multi-billionaires while not having enough money to feed all of our citizens and provide them with housing and medical care. That is a failure of decency.

Apparently, Noem sends out regular memos . . . with a different photo of herself on every one of them.

Did you see Dana Bash's interview with Noem? Noem said, "Americans don't trust the government," and Bash said, "You are the government." And it was as if Bash hadn't even said that. Noem just went on with her fearmongering.

It does not seem sustainable for the stock prices to continue to not reflect actual value. Reminds me of the dotcom bubble and crash. I'm pretty freaked out about the suggestion that the national treasury would be fooling around with bitcoin. Bitcoin is just a pyramid scheme, isn't it?

It's like our justice department is waiting for Trump to do something worse than he's already done (over and over). He commits another crime before he can be held accountable for the last one.

Do you know what connection there is between inflation, the underlying assets that comprise the value of the dollar, and the stock exchange? I wonder if the stock market will be affected? The other two certainly will. Jobless rates will soar.

The conditions in Russia that Putin's greed inspired may become the conditions we experience in the U.S. (Except they'll probably send political prisoners to Mississippi or Wyoming instead of Siberia)

It seems like it was so easy for them to flip the whole country on its ass. Here I was, thinking I needed to be careful about giving out my SSI # and stuff like that, and some jerk can just walk in to that building and look at everything. About everyone. People get shot for stealing gum.

It's not really a fair trade if you don't randomly round them up and throw them into detention centers every few years. You know, just to show they aren't real people. (Don't forget to steal their kids)

I hope the countries treat them better than the U.S. treated immigrants fleeing to our borders.

Trump appointed Musk, but Musk doesn't have security clearance and is not getting paid. I don't know how Musk can be allowed access without proper clearance. Who polices that? Can whoever allows him access without security clearance be sued for failing to protect our information?

You've taken some people's minds off of how much they don't like Trump for a little while, so that's something.
