I heard the NEA is only considering proposals related to 1776 & the USAā€™s 250th birthday & I was feeling intensely patriotic, so Iā€™m printing these really big posters inspired *directly* by the Founding Fathers The cut was carved from the masthead of a 19th century newspaper

Hereā€™s a dog. Donā€™t forget to take breaks. Get rest. Do something that makes you feel better. Read a good book. Watch a movie. None of these things will prevent you from helping others. Your first job is to stay above water.

Seems like time to quote the Nac Mac Feegles: ā€œNae king! Nae quin! Nae laird! Nae master! We willnae be fooled again!ā€

I've been thinking about why there hasn't been more organizing happening publicly in my city. There have been no big protests or campaignsā€”just some small demonstrations & one day of targeted action at our senators' local offices. This is an anomalyā€”historically, we've been all in on protests.

If you've never made a public comment on a regulation before and are not sure what they are, how they work, or what they do, it is worth reaching out to a gov docs librarian for help. This stuff is their bread & butter. They can't tell you what to write, but they can explain the process to you.

Alright, BlueSky, I need your help. Iā€™m looking for people to talk to about my Masterā€™s Thesis. Particularly anyone whoā€™s a subject matter expert in regional policy/advocacy for heritage preservation or environmental conservation. Please help a brotha out!

This is an extremely powerful piece by an author I've admired since I was in undergrad. Read the whole thing if you're in a mental space to do so (and if not please bookmark it for later).

Bad news from LCSH. This will percolate down to libraries as well, as we use these subject headings.

Stellar piece on Defector today about the discovery and high-quality preservation of VHS media. defector.com/someone-has-...
