I heard the NEA is only considering proposals related to 1776 & the USA’s 250th birthday & I was feeling intensely patriotic, so I’m printing these really big posters inspired *directly* by the Founding Fathers

I just submitted for some. Keep it up!
2026 and the 250th seem like an EXCELLENT year to be particularly patriotic!
That was what Magna Carta was about, the king and the Government obeying the law.
I hear y’all asking about getting one. Shipping is always the kicker—more for bandwidth than cost—but I’ll think on it
Local folks they’ll be dry by tomorrow. Make a donation to someone doing something and show us at the press. I’m personally covering materials for this one

As for the fonts, I don’t have names for them TBH—they’re historical wood type & not named
The top is a san serif bold—the bottom a serif
Here’s a video of the printing process.
I didn’t expect to be printing these all day but here we are!
I don’t know what the Founders would have made of Grapecicle paper, but I like to think Ben Franklin at least would have been jazzed
1. order more paper
2. set up a form for folks to donate to the press & receive a poster/digital file
We’re asking for a $35 dollar donation for posters—we will make up to 200
$5 for a high-quality digital version
Here’s the form—& please share!
(Also, the example inspired my kid to think of what she could do with her HS printmaking space, which is awesome…)
