I got my degree 40 years ago with the OU when I was on maternity leave and when I worked part time. A first, which I wouldn't have got at 21! And now I study at the City Literary institute on day a week - I'm addicted. I wish you and your wife everything that's good.

If anything, it's not old enough. You're probably still in gainful employment: retirement provides more time to learn and relearn.

No - if it's a serious problem I'd like an experienced doctor who knows when he needs to ask another well qualified colleague for a second opinion.
