🧠Does #WealthTax work? 🎙️BBC's #GoodMorningScotland 🌞put that question to our CEO @alexcobham.bsky.social today and to the Tax Foundation Europe. Here's what they had to say ⬇️ #TaxTheSuperRich

"The last 15 years have taught us that the UK cannot cut its way to growth... Achieving growth will require rebuilding public services." Leading economists (incl @mazzucatom.bsky.social) urge the Chancellor to avoid spending cuts in the FT today www.ft.com/content/4b0d...

Absolutely right. Government is planning to strip vital support from a million disabled people – but they won’t even consider introducing a fair tax on the extremely wealthy, even though this would raise nearly 5 times more. They urgently needs to rebalance their priorities ⚖️

BREAKING: Treasury minister @darrenpjones.bsky.social refuses to explain why the government is cutting support for disabled young people instead of taxing the super-rich fairly 👇🏼

How many times do we have to say it? *Austerity doesn’t work*. More cuts to public spending is economically illiterate and morally indefensible - people didn’t vote Labour to get more Tory austerity. FFS tax extreme wealth, don’t slash public services @patmillsuk.bsky.social

🚨 Tonight at 6pm 🚨 We’ll be premiering our full video (featuring the mighty Orbital) and telling you exactly how you can get involved. A tight 45 mins, in solidarity with going outside and enjoying the sun / iftar 🌞 Register here - greensorganise.uk/taking-the-fig…

John McDonnell MP and Zarah Sultana MP are never getting the Labour whip back, they should resign together, to add weight to their opposition to Labour’s Cruel Attack on Disabled People. progressiveprimers.medium.com/049-the-new-...

The Health and Disability Green paper will deliver tiny income gains at the cost of major losses for those with health problems or a disability. Restricting PIP qualification to save ÂŁ5bn would mean between 800,000 & 1.2 million people losing support of between ÂŁ4,200 & ÂŁ6,300 per year by 2029-30.

The verdict is in. The Labour Party are officially the New Nasty Party. progressiveprimers.medium.com/049-the-new-...

@tamhauyu.bsky.social: "Greens Organise are doing the necessary [work] to propel our movement to where it needs to be - where it needed to be yesterday, to [support] migrants, the Global Majority working class and all minoritised communities. I'm excited to be working together!"

Welcome to Councillor TAM Hau-Yu to the Green Party, now Lewisham Council’s only and best (Green) councillor

🎉 A huge welcome to our new councillor for @greenparty.org.uk in Lewisham. 🙌🏼 A proud champion for migrants, a clear and effective voice against austerity and a voice of solidarity with Palestine. 💚 Welcome @tamhauyu.bsky.social!

SDLP's Colum Eastwood highlights a disabled constituent who got PIP under the Tories but now won't "After 14 years of Tory government & many of us wanting to see the back of them, can the PM answer one question? What was the point, if Labour are going to do this?" #PMQs x.com/PolitlcsUK/s...

Good question from Denyer today, idea Labour are already taxing wealth (to any significant degree) is just another lie from Starmer. x.com/PolitlcsUK/s...

Tax wealth youtu.be/rAb_p5DCC3E?...

Freezing Personal Independence Payments (PIP) is the most insidious part of the coming Labour government disability cuts because PIP goes to disabled and long term sick people who have been assessed to need these payments, why make these people poorer?

I spoke to @johnharris1969.bsky.social for this week's @theguardian.com Politics Weekly podcast on the massive cuts to benefits for ill & disabled people the government is planning There are clearly huge challenges to address, but these cuts are not the answer www.theguardian.com/politics/aud...

The Labour Party reportedly going after the disabled and long term sick is despicable but not surprising given Starmer’s determination to destroy the Labour brand in government. Instead they should be taxing wealth, progressiveprimers.medium.com/048-once-mor...

Over half of Green voters in 2024 didn’t know who Carla Denyer was. 86% couldn’t identify Adrian Ramsay. Totally agree with this piece by Joe Todd for @novaramedia.com - time for a new populist leader! novaramedia.com/2025/03/11/t...

Labour will reportedly announce this week their plans to cut support for the disabled and long term sick. The government should instead tax wealth, six progressive tax changes to do exactly that. progressiveprimers.medium.com/048-once-mor...

I was interviewed by PoliticsJoe about my new book, check it out! m.youtube.com/watch?v=UAek...

In July 2023, being the vacuous centrist he is, Starmer tried to blame Labour's loss of the Uxbridge by-election on the expansion of ULEZ to outer London. www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-poli.... Now in March 2025, ULEZ has been found to have reduced pollution in Outer London. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Rather than attack the disabled & unfit to work, the government should decrease the Universal Credit taper rate and increase the Universal Credit "standard allowance" for those looking for work. progressiveprimers.medium.com/042-universa...

I wrote for @huffpost.com on why the government's plans to slash welfare spending are a cruel, unnecessary choice. Time to start taxing wealth fairly instead of stripping away support from those who can least afford to lose it. www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/green-...

Today I have called for a Chilcot-style inquiry into the UK’s involvement in Israel’s assault on Gaza. Our concerns have routinely been met with evasion and silence. We need a full, public, independent inquiry with the legal power to establish the truth. news.sky.com/story/starme...

Five days ago media was saying how great Starmer had done with Trump (despite achieving nothing). Now he's been humiliated. www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/keir-s...

The audacity of some Labour MPs claiming they’re helping pensioners actually, after implementing the most unpopular Labour policy since the Iraq War is truly something to behold… #045 Means Testing Winter Fuel Payments progressiveprimers.medium.com/means-testin...

Well done @emily4mk.bsky.social for speaking out. Too many Labour MPs seem to see their role as just fodder for whatever the leadership decides. Democracy requires MP to represent their constituents, their manifesto and their principles www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Starmer claims it's unrealistic to tax wealth to pay for increased defence spending. But cutting overseas aid to 0.3% of GNI, despite previously criticising a tory cut to 0.5% and despite explicitly pledging to restoring development spending at 0.7% in Labour's 2024 manifesto, is somehow fine...

In Labour's 2024 Manifesto it reads, Labour is committed to restoring development spending at the level of 0.7 per cent of gross national income as soon as fiscal circumstances allow It said nothing about cutting it. labour.org.uk/wp-content/u...

“cutting funding for the world’s poorest people is the easiest – and cruellest – choice he could make” www.theguardian.com/global-devel...

Good Morning Britain going hard on the decision by the government to means test the Winter Fuel Payment progressiveprimers.medium.com/means-testin... www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kaJ...

The first year of a Labour government www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Starmer has just committed to spending 2.5% of GDP on defence from 2027 (ÂŁ13.4 billion more per year from 2027) Cut in foreign aid spending, from 0.5% to 0.3% of GDP, in 2027, clearly won't pay for it all. What happened to that ÂŁ22billion black hole?

Who's getting rich from your mortgage? Spoiler: it's not the bank. www.youtube.com/watch?v=kidX...

Labour's decision not to compensate WASPI women will further erode trust in Labour politicians and politicians generally. progressiveprimers.medium.com/046-labour-h...
