I think the internet has amplified this tendency: We come up with a narrative, or our own slant about a work of art, and we fall in love with it. It's human nature, and it's part of appreciating things. Social media, and maybe just culture in general, can carry such a momentum with it...

Oh yeah! It's interesting that when something becomes your hobby, you notice it everywhere. Weed was never mine, but I was always hanging out with the creative and open-minded types.

That reminds me that one of my favorite 2024 movies not everybody necessarily heard of was RIDDLE OF FIRE, which is not quite kid appropriate but stars some little rascal hellraisers on dirt bikes battling a scary cult over a blueberry pie. A total delight.
