This numbers problem is at the core of other issues too. People generally think there are more immigrants than there are.
For some reason they also think that more of them are doing crimes or illegal trading or scrounging, because the ones doing honest jobs are somehow less noticeable dunno why.

The online-ness of this - the sheer indignity of having to respond with moral urgency to a fucking “fixed that for you” meme - is tactical. They want us to feel sheepish about taking them seriously. Don’t. There is no dignity in their depravity, only smallness of character that must be stopped.

We are witnessing the US government declaring its intention to defy the courts in pursuit of a flagrant violation of the civil and human rights of an innocent civilian. Treating this like an immigration issue that doesn’t poll well is morally depraved but also frankly stupid.

My point is just that if Ukrainians had better circumstances, like the French do - if they had more time on their hands shall we say - and also if they took their democracy more for granted, they would stage bigger protests against this sort of outrage. I’m not criticising anyone
