The Warlord Chronicles by Bernard Cornwell! I just finished them myself, it's a trilogy of the Arthurian Legend but set in a more historically-based 5th-6th century. Not "knights in shining armor," but a very brutal and dark take on the stories, more based on the Welsh stories they came from.
