From a film perspective I think it really does a great job of encapsulating the most important themes.
Books and movies are different and IT is a big weird book.
Plus the original miniseries already kinda did that.
I’m glad we got Bill Hader and Cam Monaghan and Finnaeus Wolfheart’s performances

I liked the changes to the ending and the constant in-jokes at Stephen King’s expense. They really put some work into the ending and while the way they changed Mike Hanlon’s role originally bothered me I definitely appreciated it more this time.
Dropping the tertiary plots made a lot of sense, too.

the kid actors did a great job, too, and some of their adult counterparts were just spot on.
Only thing that threw me was James McAvoy. They needed someone taller and I am I’ve got a thing about Brits playing Muricans. idk I just don’t like how it only goes one way
