If you're talking about the ICE raids, that was debunked. www.snopes.com/news/2025/02...

Lately I've been seeing its cousin, "none of the media are reporting on this."

Wasn't Bannon decrying Musk like last week?

My favorite is the people raving about how Christopher Nolan unearthed this little-known story to make this epic film. It's giving "the Titanic was real?!" vibes.

I keep thinking of the parable of the persistent widow. She didn't get justice because the judge was nice. She got justice because she wouldn't shut up.

Oh that's so cool! Thank you!

Have you kept a tracker or is there a way to tell in the app?

Okay I'm pretty shocked too. That's really depressing.

Somehow my husband and I have managed to trade off who gets the 4yo's illness. I got the cold that led to pneumonia, then norovirus. He got strep. I got a mystery virus that won't go away. Unfortunately, we both got RSV, but we at least staggered a bit. We're equal like that.

Sometimes you can have trouble getting it okayed early. My MIL was told no in 2019/2020, but when she said she was expecting a grandchild they changed their minds and let her.

Yeah, in the United States we're so distanced from maternal and child mortality that we have them before.

I've heard (from a liberal Canadian friend) this one was 100% weather related. The wind was REALLY bad and they shouldn't have attempted landing. And it is Canada after all.

It's all kind of sad. What brings someone to embrace a persona like that for so long?

This is literally why we didn't have baby showers until very recent history. You couldn't just expect a baby (and mom) to survive.

I keep loose-leaf fruity tea around for iced tea and because it's good tea for a 4yo. But yeah, uh, this isn't it.

I completely agree! If someone feels the urge to do so, I'm okay with them doing it. But I'd much rather text someone a picture with my kid enjoying the toy they got and a thank you--if I can manage that. And it's barbaric to expect new mothers to send them.

I got to have a Zoom with two dear friends for the first time in a long time. Also, my doctor prescribed me medicine for my cough.

Yes! The first aid kit has legit helped me through a panic attack.

That book still haunts me 13 years later. I vividly remember reading passages like this while engaged. Thank God I married someone who is not the selfish stereotype that author used for all of his examples.

Okay I would absolutely hate the phone aspect of that, tbh, and would probably only do it via Zoom. But I get the sentiment.

I'm seeing wildly different takes on this from people who generally agree and I feel like I'm missing out. Missing commercials is the only bad thing about not watching the Superbowl. 😩

YES! I love it. It's helpful for me to see the little wins I have throughout the day, but it also has good "first aid" resources when I'm spiralling or even having a panic attack.

I'm afraid I would have the same experience. 😣 As a kid, I wanted a forest green Subaru Outback because Crocodile Dundee did the commercials. I have since owned two Outbacks, a Forester, and an Ascent (but none green, unfortunately).

That happened with me before too. The guy had to get a manager to help because he hadn't seen it done before and the manager goes, "That's because she's smart."
We definitely earn enough to cover it now.

My in-laws went to Costco for us yesterday and got us the deli taco kit, and we had that for dinner.
