Poets will have to summon a fierceness equal to the current environment. C.D. Wright

Though forced to make do with shrinking day-length, though forced to go the worm’s way, poetry ensures new shoots. C.D. Wright

I like to waltz in and cut Brussels sprouts sometimes. But not with that cursed mandolin, Chris. I’m STILL laughing at your “have you heard of a salad kit” 💀 🥗

I’m sorry to hear about hospital return (hope you are getting the care you need, Mattilda 💖), but hurrah for this splendid arrival!!

Ohhh Dusti ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹 I’m so sorry. Hoping you can sleep and rest and heal now. 💐 I hate our (lack of) healthcare state.

I posted a video about this on Insta, and my DMs blew up with names, and they weren’t THIS editor’s name, they were OTHER NAMES 😭 So y’all. Maybe this is why there are so many women in editing/publishing—because of the mens behavior with our young writers. So gross.

(Not me, thinking about talking with a woman writer about my age recently, and I mentioned a male editor who is apparently known for being inappropriate w/ young women, and she was like “I mean, I just assumed—he always invites attractive young women to read—!”)

Gosh, thanks for this gorgeous, cormorant deep-dive 🙏💙📚 Robert Duncan was right about the need to teach queer liberation canon…

RIGHT. HAPPY PRIDE! I did not know this, either. Highly recommend her letters! Also, a very chonky book you can toss as someone annoying, should the occasion doubtless arise…

Woooow—the language, not giving! 👀 Or needing to catch up, critically. So interesting. That sounds tricky to read!

It’s so telling that J.K. Rowling has no imagination. Because it takes VERY LITTLE to understand how her transphobia affects queer women. Anyway. Happy pride. Pride is a RIOT. Read old books and don’t accept definitions of your self from others. 🏳️‍⚧️

When gender is acknowledged as a spectrum, which it is—we all have feminine and masculine aspects, bless!—the world is so large, so full of play. On the flip side: transphobia directly harms EVERYONE not seeming to “fit” a “perfect”/arbitrary gender construct. All gender queerness is policed.

Ahh adding the bio to my…tbr stacks! 🙏

I really need folks to read older books and understand how we have become more policed and less playful in our language. More strict, more conservative, more fearful. The narrative of progressive is a narrow one. Your affectionate brother, Fangs
