Fascinating profile of a park ranger in San Francisco who works with unhoused residents and has adopted the novel tactic of treating them like human beings, building relationships, and helping them access resources on their own timeline.

This is where we are now: An elementary school at Fort Campbell has removed all books from its library that so much as *allude* to slavery or the civil rights movement. The wholesale erasure of history in real time.

This is probably the most accurate take.

Since the adult #vaccine schedule is currently not active on the CDC website here is a screenshot for the recommended schedule.

If you live in New York State and think Gov. Kathy Hochul should remove the corrupt mayor of NYC, give her a call or send her a letter.

Tesla's stock is ridiculously overvalued, and even a modest consumer boycott could tank the company, which accounts for the majority of Elon Musk's wealth. The divestment movement weakened apartheid South Africa. Let's do that again. slate.com/business/202...

And now is the time when we see what companies REALLY gots women’s backs,,, the world is watching 👀

It's not complicated. They're just trying to stop women from being able to vote.

the “administrative state” in practice is a lot of very hard working, practically anonymous people doing the thankless work of making this country run and a drug-addled dipshit is slandering them in order to steal our money for himself

"if the public believes there is no determination to fight back, Trump’s destruction will continue unabated" says @sulliview.bsky.social . But some Democrats in Congress - like Jasmine Crockett and Chris Murphy - are showing how it's done. #TrumpTyrrany www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Blog holds up

Yes. This is a moment to make clear to Donald Trump, even at a steep and painful cost, that the arts in this country are never ever going to come under his control.

No one in the arts should stand for this. If you’re on an NEA panel this year, it’s time to resign. If you’ve recently been awarded a grant, you should turn it down. And you should do it as publicly as possible.

It should be obvious at this point that the people pushing AI on you hold you in contempt and think that you're a mindless drone. You cannot run your own life and need them to do everything for you. You only deserve meaningless slop, you don’t even get to have your own thoughts.

A reminder that on this site folks may be aware that Trump got basically nothing new or substantive from Mexico or Canada but over on the other place, and out in parts of the real world, the GOP are successfully and ruthlessly spinning these as wins. They are messaging masters, Dems aren’t. Sorry 🤷🏽‍♂️

Senator Andy Kim just went to the USAID building, talked to the security guard there to confirm employees are being barred entry, and then did a press gaggle right there in front to call it out. This is doing something. This is making an effort on messaging. Other Democratic lawmakers: take notes.

“You wanted this responsibility. You wanted the power that you have. Now fucking use it while you still have it. You might not for much longer at this rate.” www.welcometohellworld.com/going-into-b...

If anyone wants to yell at @schumer.senate.gov to DO HIS JOB and OBSTRUCT THE GOP, he will likely be marching in the NYC Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade Feb. 16, as he has the last several years. I know it’s a long way off and we have to yell at him NOW. Which we can. We can also yell at him then!

@schumer.senate.gov Does Elon Musk have control over my social security number, Federal income tax information etc....? I need an immediate response since you are unfortunately my Senator.

I know that all these institutions know how to push back because when Obama directed them to enforce pre-existing Title IX law, universities said no. They flat out refused until there was a working group and specific guidelines. And even then, they *still* refused.

This poem could well be the Howl of our times.

The job of congress isn't to come on here and tell us stuff, that's the media's job. Your job is to tell us what you're going to DO about it.
