Is the joke supposed to be that I don’t know this is an AI response? Fuck your gpt noise

I really don't think you explained very well how the US economy has been shaped. So just by existing, the boomer generation shaped capitalism as we know it in this country? Ever heard of chattel slavery? I think that mindset better explains how the economy was "shaped." Read Foner's "Reconstruction"

on THIS we agree 100%

Wait wait wait whoa. When did you get such a precise lens into my psyche? LOL. You just said the US supreme court is neutral. I assume you are doing that out of your feelings of wanting to live in times of certainty where your ideology is unquestionably dominant without having to deal with the mess

You're totally right

Agreed, D's=cooked, though as I was trying to state in my top post, it's a little more complicated than that in an individual race at the state level. Also, I've been a leftist for many decades, and you gave me something new here "a jabroni in the employ of business interests." That makes me happy

You notice how other people were able to disagree here without getting personal? That's how I knew they weren't trolls. Just people with a disagreement. I think if the Democratic party were full of people like that commenter and me it'd be better off than it is right now

Which supreme court? North Carolina's? The US? I would be happy wagering my life savings that these republican-controlled institutions will continue along the path of full autocracy. I can't imagine you are being serious here but I don't see a sign of sarcasm if you intended to leave one.

on a national level I agree with you entirely, it's appalling, more R-lite than ever. I just dont think a judge who won a state election is going to be denied that spot and just accept it lying down. I dont doubt for a second they can succeed in taking it from her, but she won't just roll over.

Nah. That's a narrative about DNC that's mostly true but misses the point here. She'll fight as much as she can, problem is what can she do about an illegal supreme court ruling that is sure to be upheld by the US Supreme court? This could be a much bigger moment than Dems conceding a lost race

Yeah. It's like, at least be consistent with your bullshit. I have been shocked to see Republicans suddenly concerned with a "women's issue" when the whole right-wing movement we're facing now got its start opposing (and successfully blocking) the ERA. Hypocrisy never stopped them before, though.

my mom had a career as a novelist, and had basically retired by the time social media became a required aspect of the job. But she retired, in part, because of that fact - she didn't want to be THAT "available". You're correct. Also important to point out that this is an internet-only problem.

can't stop laughing at the subhead: "Times reporters in Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal anticipated that Justin Trudeau would step down as prime minister. Still, covering the news required teamwork, fast thinking and confident execution." Good for you, gang! Party on!

@wrexweed.bsky.social I thought you'd appreciate that I chose this as the second of twenty influential films in my life

Yeah this, I feel like we talk about certain behaviors being “very online” and that’s gotta be near the top, just not something people devote much IRL conversation to but seems to be the Rosetta Stone to some folks when they’re online picking sides

All of that is true and I also find the ketchup-drip hilarious, but i'm a little more concerned about his, y'know, mass deportation and making our elections less democratic, the safety of LGBTQ+ people and anyone who isn't from a white family with generational wealth. We won't win a posting war

I don't think making Trump feel annoyed or whatever else is "worth something" as he steps up to take absolute power with a plan to make us more an oligarchy and less a democracy or republic. He feels great. He doesn't care about any judge - he probably did before the election but now he's home free.

Hahaha here’s the full roast of Elon via grok “You're the human equivalent of a Tesla on autopilot: you think you're going places, but you're just a danger to everyone around you.”

It's literally a slaveowner's wet dream, why the fuck do we need this again? We need to actually build human connections and build bridges and organize together if we're gonna survive as a species. It's going to make it WEIRDER if you use a fuckin practice bot before you try to build locally etc

you're right, that's a good point - it's sort of a self-sustaining cycle because the infrastructure already exists for the grift and there's people salivating to hear more of their perspective played back at them in various ways

So true. It's crossed my mind a few times how infuriatingly simple it would be for a sociopath/grifter to make money especially at this time more than any other period in living memory. If only we didn't have principles, we could try to cash in. Strange days

that's so perfect. Also, I spotted one in the wild yesterday (my first time) and I was blown away by JUST how ugly it looks. People who put 125K up for these are the same type of folks that bought out the limited edition Trump NFTs in record time
