When you go from a 30pt margin to something more like 10pts in a safe district it means your party is going to get its ass handed to them in swing races. Don’t let any R analysts tell you different.

I'm just going to leave this here. #Helene

I ain't going to have spent 4 years criticizing Dems for being seemingly unable to narrative build only to turn around and complain when a guy does a big narrative building moment

For those of you who use Kindle Unlimited, the Mercenary Librarians trilogy is now available to read for free! (Which is a very nice deal, given that they are normally $11.99/$14.99/$14.99 as ebooks!) These are our books about cranky community organizers with superpowers. 🥳 amzn.to/43w4LsD

Is it really too much to ask media outlets reporting on invading Greenland & Canada to lead with "THIS IS WILDLY ILLEGALLY UNDER BOTH OUR NATO AND UN TREATY COMMITMENTS, WHICH ARE ALSO PART OF US LAW"? The normalization of this is wildly inappropriate & there is no excuse for it.

Sen. Booker’s speech was a substantive and moral account of this moment. He did not read the phone book. He did not babble. For 24 hours @booker.senate.gov laid out a detailed, damning, and critical narrative of truth, history, politics, morality, humanity. What will you do?

BREAKING: Susan Crawford has WON the Wisconsin state Supreme Court race!!

happy LOL FUCK YOU LOSERS day to all who celebrate

More Senator Booker. Less Senator Schumer. Thank you, @booker.senate.gov!

Sen. @corybooker has committed to filibustering the business of the Senate to bring attention to the lawlessness of the Trump Administration until he can no longer stand or speak. The least we can do is keep him company for awhile. Watching www.c-span.org/event/us-sen...

I wish people hated fascism half as much as they hate feminism

Yes and, NOAA does not just benefit insurance through "feeding actuarial models." Insurance works best when people are aware of extreme hazards and can work to reduce them (move car inside before hailstorm, put on hurricane shutters). It benefits insurance to make sure *everyone* has good data.

Moment of clarity today in the Senate where Republicans sided with big banks & against customers. Higher fees, lower transparency. Now it goes to the House - so call your Member of Congress to ask how they’ll vote!

BREAKING: The Trump administration has detained another international student—this time from the University of Alabama and without providing any justification. All are assaults on free speech and are blatant violations of immigration law.

Senate Republicans would rather you didn’t find out they just voted to give the biggest banks billions in profits from overdraft fees that kick working people when they’re down. Disgraceful. Meanwhile, every Senate Democrat voted against it.

Giveaway on the IG happening this week with @josegurabooks.bsky.social 😍 This book is great and I had fun stitching a bag to go with it. The tiny Pringles can 🥺🥺🥺 Head to my IG (@janineamesta) to enter.

Yeah, you’re never gonna talk me out of this being a combination of envy, covetousness, and “it’s not a REAL job because you don’t HATE every second of doing it” Puritan brain worms.

Just a reminder: having a functional moral compass right now is going to make you feel bad all the time; don’t mistakenly hate yourself for that.

The night sky came alive recently near Watertown, South Dakota.

The latest crazy just proves what we all know. They are discussing everything on Signal to avoid any discovery or FOIA or archival laws. So illegal but here we are.

The difficulty of this current era is *so much* should be a major scandal that *nothing* ends up a major scandal. Rampant corruption becomes a norm rather than an exception and it gets harder to break through with any one thing.

I'm soooo happy to reveal the cover for my new novella (out in October this year): The Cold House! It's contemporary folk horror and published by Titan Books, the fabulous cover is by @missnatmack - loooook at the detail!!! 😍😍😍 www.instagram.com/p/DHaskiSy-1...

Vivian Wilson is Teen Vogue’s special issue cover star. The 20-year-old estranged daughter of Elon Musk discusses her modeling and TV aspirations, unusual extended family, and what she describes as the “cartoonishly evil” Trump admin. Read the full interview here: www.teenvogue.com/story/vivian...

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but there are only 186 days until autumn 🎃🍁

Imagine negotiating with Putin and then coming out and telling everyone what bastards the Canadians are. Imagine having a brain so broken that this sequence of events is even thinkable.

"We will go to the bathroom, but only after we've shit our pants" is a helluva strategy.

RWA founder Vivian Stephens needs some help, if you can give it.

This isn't going to get the attention of Columbia, but it's at least as bad: the University of Maine is having its funding cut off because the governor of Maine dared to challenge Trump.

Canadians, part of the proposed tariffs for April is a 25% tariffs on books. This would be devastating for Canada's book industry, with very little impact on the US. You can voice your opposition to this particular tariff using the form below: forms-formulaires.alpha.canada.ca/en/id/cm7upm...

VIOLET THISTLEWAITE IS NOT A VILLAIN ANYMORE by @writersofrohan.bsky.social is on the FIRST PAGE of Netgalley’s Most Requested Books and I am squealing!! Come for the mildly homicidal houseplant, stay for the idiots to lovers and “there’s only one greenhouse.” www.netgalley.com/catalog/book...

Hey creative folks, a reminder NOT to feel weird or bad about promoting your new/upcoming work right now. Life is full of chaos; people are looking for new work to relax and restore and escape. And you have that work! Let them know it's there! IN FACT: Share your latest work in this thread! Do it!

Also, fun fact, the USPS ‘was’ profitable. Then, in 2006, Republicans forced them to prefund their pension plan by like 75 years in an effort to make them unprofitable and sell them off. Only the first part worked. When Dems finally undid their the pension problem in ‘22, guess what happened.

Hey #RevPit! I’m ready for my #AskEditor session. Ask your burning questions, and I’ll reply in the thread. P.S. Even though I’m an editor, I rarely proof read my posts. Oops. So, there’s a 99 percent chance typos will happen. 💜

Every story about Black romances, and honestly romance in general over the last 45 years, has some link to Vivian. Help if you can!

I know this first hand. When I was a child, my entire community was branded as spies and sabateurs, justifying our internment inside barbed wire camps for years without due process, trial or charge.

Can't believe one of my favorite authors said this about House of Monstrous Women. 🥹💜 You can get a copy free in the Goodreads giveaway! www.goodreads.com/giveaway/sho...

Two years ago today was one of the most thrilling moments of my life when I captured this sunrise eruption of Guatemala's Volcán de Fuego. My drone was much closer than I realized, and the eruption was the largest I saw in my two days up there. I may never again film something as remarkable as this:

I’m totally fine with deporting gang members who commit crimes who don’t have legal status. I just don’t want Tom Homan or an ICE agent grabbing anyone off the street and flying them to a prison in El Salvador while claiming they are all of those things with zero due process.

250 Venezuelans have been disappeared into one of the worst prisons in Central America based on Trump’s invocation of a law only used 3 times in our history - the last time resulted in the Japanese-American internment. These men have had no due process. It’s monstrous. nypost.com/2025/03/16/u...

This is horrible to post, but I may as well post it. We are essentially shutting down research operations in my group, which is focused on treatments for pediatric brain cancer. I’m a well funded investigator, and there’s no choice. Science can’t function without the stability of NIH
