#MAGAMurderBill nothing else is accurate or puts the life and death stakes front and center.

Some people questioned the strategy of telling people not to show up in DC and I was not one of those people because the images of the sparsely attended birthday military bullshit parade is exquisite.

Trump looking absolutely inconsolable at his fascist-themed 79th birthday party which no one turned up to other than those who had to because he's their boss.

No notes.

This is the way to stand up to these bullies! Respect ✊

Elissa Slotkin is a cautionary tale, not a role model

Many voters view the Democratic Party as weak, and elite centrists want that to mean "too feminine" because they gender strength as masculine. But people view the party as weak because it so rarely fights for the values it claims to hold.

More people should pause before lashing out at folks who share their hatred of this administration and ask themselves, "Am I using this person as a punching bag because I don't know how to strike back at the people responsible for all of the kidnappings, killings, deportations, and destruction?"

I was recently asked if I needed to update anything from this triage list I proposed two weeks after the election for how to best protect non-citizens through what we knew was coming. Honestly, not really. It's all been pretty much as expected, if a little faster. A few notes though:

But religious freedom, amirite?

Sen. Bill Cassidy said the quiet part out loud.

It’s Saturday. You’re still a coward @durbin.senate.gov. Same for you @schumer.senate.gov.

Worse than this- and I speak from experience- they are highly skeptical and dismissive of other Dems who are not this.

If there’s one thing that Senate Democrats have shown time and again, it’s their willingness to privilege “decorum” over the most basic rights and needs of their constituents. Today’s betrayal is simply further proof. This party isn’t going to save us. We’re going to have to do that ourselves.

@durbin.senate.gov You are a coward.

Barbara Ransby is on Bluesky y'all! Follow her! @barbararansby.bsky.social

Yes. If DHS can barge in, say your visa was revoked, be told you have a green card, say it's revoked too, and then disappear you so that neither your lawyer nor your family can find you, then all the guardrails are gone. There is no policy, practice, or law protecting anyone.

This is so on point. Thanks @radleybalko.bsky.social

you’re fired. wait you’re rehired. email us a list of things you’ve done today wait forget it you’re fired again. come back your job was important. you’re fired. or hired. come in to the office. wait the office has no computers go home. we are the department of government efficiency.

This is why voters see Democrats as weak. Check out @anatosaurus.bsky.social’s focus groups where she asks voters to describe Dems if they were an animal and it’s words like sloth and turtle. All Sen. Warner needs is a shell to crawl back in once he’s done with all this West Wing decorum cosplay.

Oh, Canada 🇨🇦 🎶 This is what fighting back looks like. (cc: @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social @schumer.senate.gov)

No worse idea than this. Whoever these moderate Dems are haven’t spoken to an actual live human voter, quite possibly, ever. Totally double-down on corporate power and neo-liberalism. It’s worked so well for you. Like, look at *gestures at all of this* www.thedailybeast.com/dems-unveil-...

If you asked a centrist to design a campaign, it would be the one Kamala Harris ran. Didn’t touch identity, excluded trans people, pro military, anti immigrant, pro business. And yet these people cannot stop writing op-eds about Democrats being too far left.

Doing my part tomorrow. Small is all.

All the folks who exited NBC today. Seen together, hoo boy. Message received.

What a clusterfuck.

Ok here is the thing with action/praxis/protest/showing up: Sometimes you contribute by being a megaphone. Sometimes by being a wallet. Sometimes by being a physical body. Sometimes by being fuel or being relief. If you can’t be one thing at any given moment you can almost certainly be another.

The thing about fascism is that a significant chunk of people who obey in advance do so not out of fear, but eagerness: they perceive in the fascist regime their chance to settle cultural scores, regardless of costs

Where are all the Dem consultants who supposedly do "comms" work at? Where's the website put together with succinct talking points, one pagers, posters that folks can easily download, print and pass out in their communities? Why aren't they doing this work PRO-BONO?

🥚 is it “day one” yet?
