That is sad to read. But having been in the industry myself, I agree with the comment in the article that it is sadly not surprising.

Looks good. I will watch this when I’m back off holiday.

It’s very interesting to hear what’s happening with the scrolls. But as @wmarybeard.bsky.social has pointed out, there unfortunately isn’t that much news in reality. www.the-tls.co.uk/regular-feat...

Very nice packaging

You’re welcome. The popularity of what you’re doing shows there is a need to recognise and promote working class classicists. The fact you are open about the challenges of mental health is brilliant too.

From what I can see you are both doing a great job. It is tiring but certainly rewarding.

@bylinetimes.bsky.social is also a good source of information.

I did. It gave me some useful information about accounts that appear on my feed that I don’t follow, such as @mcgillmd921

Interesting. I can’t see any reason for the lack of interaction in that case then. One argument may be that popular historians can’t respond to every interaction, but I see Mary Beard, for example, responding to quite a lot of people.

Now you mention it, yes it is quite shocking. I’ve often noticed historians, well known or not, stating their supposed view and then going back on it.

Same to you!

Very interesting. There are still a few assumptions in the article and many assumptions will continue to be made about ancient events and stories. But interesting nonetheless. Thanks for sharing Simon.

Sure. It may have been very early but at least you were doing something you enjoy.

Sounds like a very good way to wake up!

I would buy one now, but I already bought one and gave it to a friend (and yes, they very much enjoyed it).

It looks as cold there as it was/is here.
