Bill 5 is a wide-reaching attack on Indigenous rights, environmental protections, labour laws and democratic oversight. Because they've jammed so many problematic elements into one bill I sat down to give you a guide to what Bill 5 will really mean for Ontario. www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAAk...

#BREAKING: The Ontario NDP Caucus is filibustering in committee right now, fighting to stop Doug Ford’s Bill 5 power grab. We’re using every tool we’ve got — amendment by amendment, speaker by speaker — to fight this power grab and hold Ford to account. Watch live: www.ola.org/en/legislati...

The one thing that unites Canadians across the country is that they don't like Ontario.

"No, it's not Y. The current year is 2025." is true for almost all year values of Y. You just happened to ask the question for the one value of Y that it is incorrect.

Seems @onesoccer.bsky.social has given up on their Bluesky feed. Haven't posted anything in over a month. Guess I didn't like comment and share enough of their posts.

Oh nice. The Canadian Shield soccer tournament, featuring Ukraine, Ivory Coast, and New Zealand, will be on TSN. #CanMNT

Back in the day, I used to be impressed when I heard people say they were members of the debate club or something like that, and even felt a little ashamed that I wasn't doing anything like that. Then I watched some debates, and I was wrong to think those things.

It gets worse the more you look at it. 🤢

The sound of everything falling apart is getting louder and louder.

It didn't happen to me, but I swore loudly reading this.

Trump-style tactics don’t belong in Ontario. Scrap Bill 5. Go back to the drawing board. Do it right. ➡️ ontariondp.ca/scrap-bill5

It's sort of funny to me to see that 'Canadians want change' because I'm pretty sure they didn't like Trudeau was because he changed too much.

This is consistent with an idea I've had that one reason people were grumpy about the carbon tax is that deep down, even though they probably don't realize it, they're grumpy about having to use cars so much. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

I think we need to take a step back from being angry at all the dumb shit Trump is doing and channel that anger towards all the dumb shit Doug Ford is doing, like we did for the Greenbelt swap. He may have denounced Trump, but he's no less Trumpist than he was. He's just using it as cover now.

This is not cool. Doug Ford is behaving 100% anti-democratically here. I'm ashamed at my province for voting him in for a 3rd term.

The real reason we refer to Trump's two terms as Trump 1.0 and Trump 2.0 isn't because this is his second term. It's because he introduced breaking changes.

Name the (fiddle) tunes Both sound familiar, but I can't put names to them. I don't think the track title is the name of either. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDWz...

Remember that Rick Mercer bit, 'Talking to Americans'. There was one where they went to a university campus, and talked to American profs. Surely they wouldn't fall for it, you'd think. You'd think wrong. Even the supposedly smartest people didn't even have vaguely correct notions about Canada.

Incredible work from everyone involved here

Grim. This is the second example of this. I'm also seeing increased interest in LLM "peer review." Doing these things is to give up on genuine scholarly production. LLMs can't think, reason, etc...Why would we outsource tasks that rely on those things to them? People have lost their minds.
