I'm referring to narrative within the game, and I actually made this post because part of what i love about gaming is when the narrative is that I, the player, am improving at a task. It's why I love arcade games
I feel that has been lost in many games that are kinda just movies

I fully agree with this, and making both storytelling telling and gameplay passive is a big issue. I don't have issues with games telling a story, but I think the economy of gameplay is more important than almost any other aspect , and I like when a game just lets me press play and the game happens
