the thing about chasing what you think is public opinion is that if and when things turn you will have made a bunch of statements and taken a bunch of stances that you’ll have to disavow. probably a better strategy just to say what you actually believe and stand by it. anyway, this guy sucks.

Gotta say it plainly: The main reason Harris was seen as less moderate was that she was a black woman! Which makes white male politicians 'moderating' on policy even more infuriating because they already have a 'moderation' advantage with a lot of voters.

An even more basic problem is that Democrats regularly conflate policy extremism with being a fighter. And because the polls do regularly show that voters don't want more extreme leftward policy shifts, Democrats essentially throw their hands up and say "Well, guess we can't fight back."

I feel like some of us didn’t take that weird ceo seriously when he said workers had too much power, and companies needed to manufacture crisis to remind them why they should be grateful.

In 1943 the US government made an antifascist film called "Don't Be a Sucker" in which we see a college professor in Germany removed from his classroom by government officials who do not approve of what he's teaching about race. youtu.be/vGAqYNFQdZ4?...

In 2009 GOP Member of Congress Joe Wilson screamed “you lie” during Obama’s SOTU. No censure by the GOP, only “reprimanded” by Dems At Biden’s SOTU 2022 Lauren Boebert and MTG heckled him, nothing.. But Dems will happily throw their Black colleague under a bus for white moderate voter pandering

They’re gonna Juan Guaido Zelenskyy

They’re out there bringing karaoke to a gunfight.

Ten Democrats voted to censure their colleague Al Green. Here are their names: Ami Bera, Calif.; Ed Case, Hawaii; Jim Costa, Calif.; Laura Gillen, N.Y.; Jim Himes, Conn.; Chrissy Houlahan, Pa.; Marcy Kaptur, Ohio; Jared Moskowitz, Fla.; Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, Wash.; and Tom Suozzi, N.Y.

This is literally the problem: We NEED to be rude. We need emotion. These fuckers are destroying democracy & hurting people; our elected Democrats *should* be pissed. When they're not, they're essentially gaslighting the rest of us. www.politico.com/news/2025/03...

I’m reviewing an official DOGE staff list. Everybody’s number. Everybody’s email. Yes, including Elon’s. This Amy Gleason isn’t even on the list.

Honestly pretty funny that Republicans spent four years warning that the Democratic president was a senile, checked-out vegetable who’d handed control of the government over to unelected extremists

Indeed. It’s worth noting also that Bezos’s post-election behavior confirms that his claim about his refusal to allow the Post to endorse—that it was an apolitical act intended to preserve the paper’s reputation for objectivity—was precisely the brazen, ludicrous lie we thought it was then.

It’s less of an abdication of the First Amendment than it is a direct abrogation of it.

And generally speaking, lack of empathy is a central characteristic of people with one or more Cluster B personality disorders.

Musk states "the fundamental weakness of Western civilization is empathy". Charles Darwin, who actually researched this stuff, showed it was empathy, specifically, that enabled humanity to flourish.

Musk has ursurped the power of the purse from Congress, and is now giving out his phone number to a select group of Republican Senators, in case they have questions www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

Alina Habbard posted: NOTHING CAN STOP THIS MAN FROM FIGHTING FOR HIS COUNTRY. David Simon had a succinct 2-word response: “Bone spurs.”

“Those nasty Canadians are ripping us off and are controlled by Mexican cartels. They’re poisoning us with fentanyl and need to become the 51st state or they will pay a high price” is a belief that literally ZERO Americans had six weeks ago. It’s entirely invented from scratch.

Think we’ve forgotten about the time that Elon was booed so badly by fans of Dave Chapelle (of all people) that he locked himself in his office and Twitter employees considered calling the cops to do a wellness check. What I’m saying is we can go harder.

We are devastated to see 20% of our beloved colleagues laid off by the same leadership who have yet to recognize our union. We demand that leadership at Sesame Workshop bargain with us over the terms of these massive layoffs. Consider letting them know that you expect the same.

Not an exaggeration to say this was pound-for-pound the most effective piece of US public diplomacy in China. Twitter was blocked, but U.S. embassy pollution tweets forced Beijing to start publishing its own pollution data, which fed public outrage. Result: millions breathing vastly less toxic air

reporters stop writing entire articles premised on the idea that musk is in charge of DOGE without also mentioning that the government has claimed in court that he’s not in charge of DOGE and that he’s not even an employee of DOGE and that he doesn’t have any decision-making authority challenge

wrote about this morning's Supreme Court decision, in which five justices said maybe we're not a monarchy yet--and the other four, already half-dressed for the coronation, said wtaf ballsandstrikes.org/scotus/usaid...

You have to admire these guys' steadfast commitment to absolutely nothing.

"They'll never do this" "They'll never do that" One of them just said empathy was weakness. The mistake everyone is making right now is thinking that they care about literally anyone but themselves.

This is the kind of stuff Washington Dems should be doing. And publicizing.

People without at least one chronic illness make me nervous. What are you so healthy about?

I'm backer #154!

The legal challenge to NC Justice Allison Riggs is not complicated. Riggs won the election by 734 votes. Judge Griffin lost. The only way he wins is by throwing out over 60,000 votes and he’s counting on a partisan Republican court to deliver. #ncpol www.newsobserver.com/news/politic...

Listening to the mother of former Capitol Police Officer Michael Fanone describing on @joy.msnbc.com how she has been harassed and menaced is making my chest so tight. If your police union hasn’t condemned this conduct if, as a Member of Congress, you’ve condoned these pardons, you are a disgrace.

Fascist inherently are cowards and that’s why it’s incredibly important to show force against them early in their quest for power before they fully remake the government in their image.
