It has to be a different version because of what Toby describes as the Switch 2-exclusive "Secret Room." The control scheme of that room depends on if it's a Switch 2 or not, so I'm guessing they have to be different games because of that.

Oh! I just remembered because of another comment. Splatoon 3: Side Order had a MASSIVE flaw in that it didn't flesh out its story well before the ending.
Dialogue was sometimes played between floors, but all of it had to make sense as the first piece of dialogue you got.

Also, I disagree that dying and going back to the beginning is a flaw in roguelikes, since it's a key feature of the genre.

Not that common but I really don't like it if the roguelite elements (the ones that make the game easier) can't be turned off
