I've noticed one of the biggest differences between XI and XIV's story is that, in XIV you're dealing with a myriad of problems big and small. Revolutions and wars and dimensional shenanigans. In XI? Vana'diel is just a neverending prophecy of doom. The place is SUPER boned.
