I'm really looking forward to the prequel spinoff on peacock. It's called "Pre-Check" and Jenna Ortega plays a young Greg Kinnear.

Amongst other things this allows you to put it on your lot as a temporary RV and then get permits for an ADU. When you get your permit, you do your foundation, take it off the wheels and *boom* you just tied down an ADU. Perfect for fire recovery projects?

It’s so powerful when people explain how they’re using ADUs for themselves and their families - and even when it’s developers, normal people are living in those units !!

Wow. Reviewing the comments that have come in before the meeting. Incredible turnout for the very reasonable folks who OPPOSE a complete repeal of the program. Also lots of important feedback from good people upset about ADU projects. And a HUGE amount of copy pasting in FAVOR of a repeal.

Friendly reminder that this meeting starts at 10 am today (Tuesday) and you can attend and comment via zoom here: sandiego.gov/councilmtg

Heck, if you read this and somehow you think that bonus ADUs are bad, you can even support the motion. But please make your voice heard by visiting: www.sandiego.gov/city-clerk/a...

While some object to a handful of projects that put 10+ homes on 1 lot, a complete repeal would be throwing the baby out with the bathwater. If you want guardrails, then put that in the text of your “oppose to repeal” comment.

Why we oppose a complete repeal: The ADU Bonus program has led to the successful construction of hundreds of ADUs with over a thousand more in the pipeline awaiting approval. Nearly half of these units are deed-restricted affordable!

How to public comment online: You go to this link: www.sandiego.gov/city-clerk/a... In the field where it says "item number" you say "507" In the field where it says oppose/support, you select "Oppose" if you oppose the complete repeal of the ADU Bonus program

When we interviewed Asm Ting, he suggested we try to fund a rotating low interest loan instead — The ADU Grant is over, here's the next big thing youtu.be/TZwaFKXrynw

SB-9 is Berkeley's new state senator Jesse Arreguin's first bill. It closes a loophole that some cities have used to create owner-occupancy requirements aimed at slowing down the building of Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) such as backyard cottages and in-law apartments.

Updated fire safety? Modern fire safety? Smart stair reform? Safe stair requirements?

Really?!? If you get me to try one of these, it will REALLY prove how influential you are in the YIMBY movement.

I wonder if we’ll ever invent anything as ambitious as traffic lights, in the effort to win back streets and curbs.

That’s so nice to hear :) thanks for that!

I was wondering if the LAFCos are hiding some modern Moseses the other day. They’re so opaque and sometimes oddly defined. You know if any of em run that big and have given themselves weird powers?

And with Lord Byron prancing around the whole time.
